Overview & Reviews
2001 Econoline Wagons are virtually the same as last year, with a deluxe engine cover console, dual illuminated sunvisors and a heavy-duty battery now being standard on all models. The 16-inch wheel cover option is now only available as part of the Exterior Upgrade Package.
- Massive people-hauling ability, powerful engines, wide range of configurations.
- Offers very few convenience features, really too big for normal family use.

Best one yet. - 2001 Ford Econoline Wagon
By Dennis Carter - December 4 - 10:00 amI have owned 4 club wagons since 1978. My 2001 E150 Traveler is the best one yet. I feel the $ value of the E150 Traveler is fantastic. I dont know why Ford doesnt promote this product more.

Ford E150 - 2001 Ford Econoline Wagon
By arc2642angel - October 23 - 3:26 amThis is the first full size van we have owned. After 3 mini-vans, it has been a wonderful experience owning something that is so large and comfortable to drive. We have driven from NC to Texas twice and have made several shorter state-to-state trips. With front and rear air, airplane lighting, and bucket seats all around, the travel is comfortable for all.

Best Car Ever!! - 2001 Ford Econoline Wagon
By qaguy1982 - September 16 - 11:39 amI purchased the 2001 Econoline with the Traveler package and the 5.4L engine when I was a Boy Scout leader with two kids in college. I had blown the shocks on my previous minivan 3 times hauling boys and heavy scout gear. We wanted something equipped similar to a mini van but not a full conversion van. Found the van on a lot with the Traveler package. As others have mentioned it was much cheaper than the larger SUVs and holds more cargo. Nothing but brake pads and tires to replace for the first 10 years. Mileage could be better but try and move the same amount of gear and people with sedans and you will buy a lot more gas since you will need more cars.

Green Monster - 2001 Ford Econoline Wagon
By renaldorae - September 16 - 10:00 amThis van is great. its much better than a minv van with twice the power on a ford truck platform with my big v 10 its great. It was not much of a drop off in gas miliage from the 87 caprice classic i was driving. if there is one draw back it holds 30 gallons of gas. but when you by a v10 e 350 van you not buying it for the gas mileage. When i blow by them suburbans and knowing i paid many thousands less i feel great every day. being a chevy owner for years i never thought i would own a ford. i did drive an econoline van at my job once.im glad i made my purchase

Traveler has delivered - 2001 Ford Econoline Wagon
By dwjones16 - June 8 - 10:56 amLong term test is in,104K on 5.4L Traveler package and only been to the shop twice. Had some anti-lock brake wires chaff off and give error codes plus had an idle air control go bad. Other than normal maintenance, thats it. Good solid vehicle. My wife would rather drive it in traffic than the Camry.

Granny Tranny - 2001 Ford Econoline Wagon
By madashell - August 26 - 8:56 pmEvery piece of plastic has hit the floor or gone out the door on this thing. Thats not the clincher. With less than 30k on this animal, I am replacing the transmission. The dealer wouldnt budge on the $3500 repair. This is the last in a series of repairs. Im trading it in for a Chevy Express.

Work Horse - 2001 Ford Econoline Wagon
By Haulin Kids - January 27 - 3:10 pmOur 2001 E-150 with Traveler package is the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned. It is the ultimate trip vehicle with the VCP with its cargo room and towing capability. We have almost 50K miles and havent had any mechanical issues. When purchased the vehicle was about $7 K less than a comparable SUV and about $4 K less than a comparable minivan. Other than off roading it is much more functional than a SUV. Mileage isnt even that bad (up to 18 mpg), comparable to many smaller SUV models.

Big Red - 2001 Ford Econoline Wagon
By Ford_Guy1996 - December 13 - 3:56 amMy van is a very good van and especially good because of its size (which in fact, was the overall reason we were looking for a van) Its fuel economy, well, we werent expecting a prius, so it could have been worse. The exterior is very acceptable for a 01 and the interior is very well thought out, with lots of cup holders and other thoughtful touches, although perhaps too well thought out; I find gum and candy wrappers all over the place from our kids. I commute many miles daily to chi, so I am looking for a new car but Big Red has served me very well. Although I have had only one problem with the engine sometimes it does not operate when its hot, but Keep making econolines, Ford! Thank you
