Changes are minimal for the XC90's second year on the market. All models get wheel and tire upgrades -- 2.5Ts will wear 225/70R17 rubber and T6s will wear 235/65R17 rubber, but both get the same 17-inch "Neptune" wheels. Ice White is a new exterior color choice. Stand-alone options now include a wood steering wheel, aluminum dash inlays and a leather shift knob.
- Safe as a bank vault, plush ride, feels smaller than it is, high-quality interior materials, ample cargo room.
- Turbocharged T6 engine not well suited to SUV duty, third-row seating takes up too much second-row space.

very nice car - 2004 Volvo XC90
By mountaindriver - March 25 - 10:00 am7500 miles so far and only a few minor annoyances which dealer fixed. Love the free Volvo service loaner. No major problems at all. For a heavy car and only the 2.5T motor, this car does great in the mountains. I frequently leave other cars behind on sharp curves and hills. Average MPG is a respectable 20. Milage has improved over time from just over 16. Engine needs time to break-in. Ride and cornering is oustanding. Sex appeal is very high. I bought mine on their Overseas delivery program and cant wait to buy another Volvo.

nice,safe and solid - 2004 Volvo XC90
By kdb - March 24 - 2:00 amWe have had the Volov xc90 for over one year, we love it! We purchased it because we wanted a safe family vehicle. We purchased it over the Lexus and BMW, because we wanted more room for cargo. The interior is very flexible for family needs. It was the only SUV at the time that had design feature for safety (air bags, crumple zones etc) for the third row where the children would likely be. We felt that at the time it had the best safety features.

Its all good - 2004 Volvo XC90
By dwyercc - March 18 - 10:00 amThis car is a pleasure to drive, and is one of the best looking cars on the road today. The only thing I do not like is the lack of driver headroom...and I am short. I cannot imagine if I was a large person fitting into the Volvo XC90. Aside from a few minor noises we have had no problems at all. We ordered our car, and got a free trip to Sweden to pick it up. What a kick. That alone made buying the car worth it. You need to be patient though because it takes an extra three months to have the car shipped back to the states after picking it up in Europe.

By pcassell - February 22 - 10:00 amWaited months for the new 2004 to come in to the dealership but it was worth the wait. This car is extremly comfortable and fun to drive. I think its sharper looking than the BMW and has more interior space. Another big plus is that you dont see these cars on every street corner.

Great SUV - 2004 Volvo XC90
By chippy - January 16 - 10:00 amTraded in my old Jeep Grand Cherokee for the Volvo. The Volvo has many more amenities and features; it is comparable in seating space and has more cargo space. The stowable 6th and 7th seat is quite a plus.

Great Way to Buy a Great Car - 2004 Volvo XC90

The car handled great during our drive in Europe and we could hardly wait to drive it in the US. It is unique in styling and the handling & safety aspects sold us first off. It gets the rating for looks and is very roomy inside with lots of creature comforts.
