Changes are minimal for the XC90's second year on the market. All models get wheel and tire upgrades -- 2.5Ts will wear 225/70R17 rubber and T6s will wear 235/65R17 rubber, but both get the same 17-inch "Neptune" wheels. Ice White is a new exterior color choice. Stand-alone options now include a wood steering wheel, aluminum dash inlays and a leather shift knob.

• Safe as a bank vault, plush ride, feels smaller than it is, high-quality interior materials, ample cargo room.

• Turbocharged T6 engine not well suited to SUV duty, third-row seating takes up too much second-row space.

  I have had good experience with this car. I have had to have it in for service about 2 times. The people have trouble fixing it. It takes about 2 days for the service. Only problem.

  I am a first time Volvo owner and have absolutely no regrets. The ride is as smooth as glass and it is an amazingly comfortable ride. Friends have told me the seats are more comfortable than their living room couch. I have the third row seat and thats quite comfortable as well although with the seats up you dont have much trunk space left but no worries because Volvo has every accesory so strap your luggage to your luggage rack. Ive been in lots of luxury SUVs and this is the best ride. I live in the city and dont get more than 11-12 city miles to the gallon. Thats my only complaint. The engine is small but pretty powerful.

  250,000 Miles - 2004 Volvo XC90

  My fiances 2004 T6 AWD Volvo has 250,000 miles and it drives like its brand new. Its had no problems (just regular maintenance). He changes the oil regularly and uses premium gas. His dad (a small business owner) has two newer Volvos he purchased as company cars that have also racked up some miles, and they also drive wonderfully. My fiance and his dad absolutely love Volvo XC90s and this lead me to purchase one for myself. I recently bought a used 2004 2.5T FWD with 53,000 miles and I love it so far. I hope she also makes it to 250,000!

  The safety features are endless. I have small children and thats the most important. With this car I get that, along with pep, performance, fuel economy, style and everything else youd want in an SUV. You dont need the bigger engine to have the "get up and go". You can have it and better gas milage with the 2.5T.

  Awesome! After trying to negotiate for a 3 series and falling way short from what the dealer thought was reasonable, we went over to the Volvo dealership. It took my wife two seconds to decide that she wanted the car and didnt even test drive it! It has everything and more. This SUV is a sure bet with its options and styling.

  HAve owned approximately three months now - has performed flawlessly in blizzard conditions and handles great in the city. Pleased with the ride, interior, etc. The rear windshield wiper nut cover came off but was replaced without question at the dealership. So far, no major problems to report.

  JUst brought our new baby (XC 90) home this week. Already own a 94 940 Turbo and couldnt wait to have another Volvo in the family (but had to until daughter graduated from college!!!)... She (the SUV) is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Smooth ride for an SUV, comfortable, and easy to wash (no sharp edges, corners, or protrusions to deal with). I KNOW MY FAMILY WILL BE SAFE FOR YEARS TO COME IN THIS VEHICLE. Its been like x-mas around here since our new "baby" has arrived.
