Overview & Reviews
Changes are minimal for the XC90's second year on the market. All models get wheel and tire upgrades -- 2.5Ts will wear 225/70R17 rubber and T6s will wear 235/65R17 rubber, but both get the same 17-inch "Neptune" wheels. Ice White is a new exterior color choice. Stand-alone options now include a wood steering wheel, aluminum dash inlays and a leather shift knob.
- Safe as a bank vault, plush ride, feels smaller than it is, high-quality interior materials, ample cargo room.
- Turbocharged T6 engine not well suited to SUV duty, third-row seating takes up too much second-row space.

No gimics. Great Versatility and safety. - 2004 Volvo XC90
By Jason P - December 29 - 2:00 amI have an XC90 T6 5 passenger. It is easy to drive around town, and is especially enjoyable on long trips with the family. The comfort of the front and rear seats and excellent electronic climate control make a long trip easy to tackle. Volvo did a nice job of notching out the back of the front seats to allow for additional knee space as well as providing a space under the seats to slip your feet. The cargo space and the versatility of the folding seats in the XC90 are exceptional. Having driven all of the other luxury SUV models on the market, the XC90 offers the best comfort, easiest drive, and without question the widest array of safety features.

Bulldog review - 2004 Volvo XC90
By drbulldog - December 29 - 2:00 amI love the car. We bought it for the safty features. We needed the extra room for a 3 child and did not want a mini van. It is a very classy vehicle inside and out.

I love my XC90 - 2004 Volvo XC90
By Robert - December 26 - 4:16 pmThis is my third Volvo and my favorite. I love the space and everything about it. The white paint and excellent leather still look new. This is nicest vehicle I have owned and I have a few SUVs, even a 2006 Pathfinder, that was not near as nice. I understand two different vehicles, but the Volvo definitely fits me.

Great SUV - 2004 Volvo XC90
By RBURD - November 28 - 10:00 amQuiet, performance, spacious, great to drive, power, excellent options, all wrapped in a volvo saftey net! I would tell anyone wanting an SUV that drives like a car, handles exceptionally and is quiet to buy this one. We have owned 3 other SUVs and this is the best yet. Go for the T6! It is a big difference.

GO VOLVO - 2004 Volvo XC90
By MIDLAND - November 11 - 10:00 amJUST WHAT I EXPECTED FROM VOLVO, A WELL BUILT & DRSIGNED MID-SIZE SUV. THE T-6 IS QUITE STRONG, KINDS THURSTY, THOUGH. ONLY COMPLAINT, THE DRIVING INSTRUMENTS DESIGN ARE NOT EASILY READ. VOLVO NEEDS TO WORK ON THIS AREA.

Converted BMW Fan - 2004 Volvo XC90
By Converted2 - October 23 - 10:00 amWe just purchased our XC90 3 weeks ago after having considered the Acura MDX and the BMW X5. In the past, although we favored the safety features Volvo cars come equipped with, we have not been so impressed with the look/design of the former Volvo models, until the xc90, that is...On top of the classy, clean exterior and simplistic but elegant interior, the XC90 handsdown, out-weigh the competion with the 1st in class safety features. Having owned BMWs and Mercedes before, we are now converted Volvo fans since we got the XC90.
