The new Volkswagen Rabbit, which is the next-generation VW Golf, but with the nostalgic, U.S.-only name last used in the early 1980s, was introduced late in the 2006 model year. For the 2007 Rabbit, VW adds an auxiliary audio input jack for MP3 players, an optional Apple iPod-specific adapter and an optional tire-pressure monitor. Cruise control actuation has also been simplified.

Geat Car - 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit
By Cbrown888 - November 11 - 10:30 amRented a Golf MKV in Budapest to drive down to Vienna and enjoyed the car so much that we bought one soon after we got back to NJ. The car has not been in the shop once since weve owned it since I do my own service work. The car is great on long trips and handles like a car twice its price. Bought the Rabbit over the GTI since it doesnt need premium fuel like the turbo charged 2.0 motors. The interior space is excellent and really like the positioning of controls. The overall fit and finish is excellent and typical of a good European car. Overall well be keeping this car for a while since I usually get tired of cars pretty quickly

Basic Wheels - 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit
By tomato - October 28 - 10:13 amOk, little set of wheels. People comment its "cute". Nothing special, a bit noisy, some interior design/ergonomic issues. Centre console lacks lid or armrest, stereo terrible, front seats uncomfortable (no lumbar), A/C and defrost controls too small/awkward location, sunroof rattles, wipers stop when vehicle is stopped (very dangerous as you need to see at all times), wiper controls cumbersome, front seats get stuck in forward position (have to pull hard to move back), standard wheels ugly, rear wiper makes sticks to window, ventilation poor (windows steam up quickly), no cargo net.

VW Convert - 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit
By SunsFan - October 22 - 10:00 amI never thought that I would own a small car, as I was an suv owner for several years and loved my vehicle. However, after being prodded, I gave in and agreed to test drive this little guy. I am a changed woman. I love how it handles, and its get up and go is truly rabbit style- this little guy zips me through traffic and gets me where I need to be. I love how solid it feels- it has none of the shakiness that small cars traditional have and I really forget that Im in a small car until I get out of it. It has quite a bit of power, and seems to say Relax, Ive got this. I also like that I dont feel confined; lots of space for me and my guy during errands.

Love It! - 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit
By budderfly - October 4 - 7:10 pmI am one of those uncommon Americans that loves hatchbacks! I love the engine they put in these cars as well. It is very speedy, smooth and quiet. It has a nice interior, beautiful paint (United Gray in my case), and it is overall practical and classy. Nothing seems garish or cheesy about this car. I decided on the Rabbit over a Mini Cooper. I seriously inquired and test drove both cars. The Cooper was cool, but the engine lacked, and the styling struck me as over the top (semi-tacky). I also felt cramped and bit frightened for my safety. Traded in my 2005 Jetta. I get 25-30 mpg mostly highway driving. To me that is fairly decent, especially since the car is a 5 cylinder 2.5L.

By atomicbri - September 2 - 5:20 amWow. I am really liking my new VW Rabbit. Its still a Golf in my head and I have to get used to the name. Otherwise this car is excellent! Already have taken it on a trip and it proves to be a great driver. Very quiet at highway speed with auto. Small so easy to parallel park in the city, but loads of cargo room. Fun to drive, handles well. And interior fit and finish is excellent.

Zippy car! - 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit
By VWGryph24 - August 10 - 10:43 pmI give it an excellent rating! Man that Mark 5 Rabbit is such a zippy car. It may not be as powerful as its big brother, the GTI, but it has plenty of spunk. In Sport mode its even more zippy!

Great Car!! - 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit
By pepo - June 20 - 12:30 pmI just purchased the Rabbit and I love it. Its my first VW and my first german car. Before this I had a Integra GS-R and I get the same if not better gas mileage in my Rabbit. This car has more torque than that car so it gets up and goes right away.

By DrJohnston - June 19 - 7:00 amThe Rabbit is a great car! It handles very well, but is still fairly compliant on the rough streets of cleveland. The automatic is great. I love the three settings (D,S,Tipi). The shifts are a little slow, but not bad for a slush box. Inside the car is great except for the lack of a center arm rest. The stereo sounds very crisp! Out of the comparable cars, Honda Fit, Scions, Civics, and such, I found this to be the best car on the market.

Has It All - 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit

Its superior in so many ways to the Dodge Caliber, Toyota Matrix, Honda Civic and Mazda 3. I love its looks, refined interior, long list of standard features, performance, ride, fit & finish and how it is so quiet. It has everything Id want in a car at a very reasonable price. It is a small economical car with NO compromises.

Get Up-N-Go - 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit
By Craig Vedder - May 29 - 12:16 pmI am very impressed with the pick up of the 2.5L Rabbit. This is also matched with a great feel of the road and the perfect amount of engine noise. It handles great and the seats are nice and snug to your body. The interior has a better fit and finish then a lot of the high end lines out there. Detail is key for me - they even put little VW logos on the headlight assembly.
