  I TEST DROVE THEM ALL, MB S500, BMW 745 AND THE AUDI A8. THEY DONT COMPARE. THIS IS THE BEST OVERALL CONCEPT SINCE LEXUS FIRST CAME OUT WITH THE LS400. IT IS HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE EVERYTHING IN ITS CLASS.

  Best car I have ever owned - and that includes 3 Mercedes-Benz S500s, a BMW M5, etc. My Porsche 911 cabriolet was perhaps the most fun (in Miami), but cannot imagine a better sedan. I test drove an Audi A8L and a BMW 7-Series, but this is the car. Its navigation system could be better, but everything else is great.

  I love my Phaeton! It is a pleasure to drive and elicits very positive comments from other drivers. My passengers love the cavernous back seat leg room and comfort features. The upgraded stereo is awesome, as is the cooling/heating system. Considering the great deal I made ($54,300), this car is a great value.

  i test drove a 12 cyclinder with after market wheels, rubber, and exhaust system in scottsdale... wow. this is a hand-made vehicle with bentley heritage for under $ 100.k the vw badges are round, so owners can easily replace them with round bentley badges, or customized with owners names, or even "phaeton"... the best car ive ever been in... including bentleys and rolls

  Well made performance sedan, drives on freeway better than the Audi A8. Very stable, comfortable highway sedan with AWD.

  This is the finest car I have ever driven. That includes 7 series BMW, and even my Lexus. The fuel economy is surprising, averaging 22 city & highway.

  My Phaeton - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton

  I recently leased a 2004 Phaeton, having previously leased Passats. The Pheaton is far superior to any Volkswagon product I have ever had. The attention to detail is obvious from the seats to the dash including the a/c vents in wood trim which fold back when the a/c is turned on - Wow, what a cool feature. It is a pleasure to drive (power and quietness of cabin)with a mountain of room in the back. Based upon the price as compared to others whom I know who have leased the BMW 745i and what they have paid - It is a supremely better deal.

  The Phaeton is a great car. I have had some electronic problems with sunroof and tire pressure sensors. I also had the rear end go out. All of these issues were covered under warranty. The steering needs a little better feel, it is a little light. I dont think you can beat this car for the price. As one would expect, this cars gas mileage is low because it is such a heavy car - it weighs 5,400 lbs. However, on freeway at high speeds this car gets about 20 mpg. In city driving it only gets around 14 mpg. The interior is beautifully finished.

  I have owned Mercedes and BMWs for all of my adult life. Not only does the Volkswagen Phaeton perform better, it is more comfortable and far more stylish!
