memory - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By rodger - March 20 - 7:10 pmThis car is wonderful. It is good looking and fun to drive. The radio is one of the best I have ever had and it is not the best one offered by VW. One feels like a king on the inside of the car, fine leather and very well done real wood trim.

awesome but disappointmented - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By love vw - April 16 - 6:53 pmAwesome performance, styling, cool, fun and for the under 50 successful crowd... however, one week after her 5000 checkup, a transmission module went, she wasnt shifting... lights on everywhere. two weeks later at the dealership (did they know what they were doing..........) Returned looks- feels as good as new. Still in love with this unpretenious and elegant automobile. some marketing from corporate might help her future...if not, an orphan.............

Phaeton vanishes from US market - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Christopher De Jonge - June 22 - 11:36 pmI enjoy my Phaeton. It has beautiful interior trim. The exterior is sleek and muscular. The handling is sub-optimal, however I am used to more sport drive handling. It is a gas-guzzler. Perhaps the most disconcerting thing is that 2006 will be the last year for new model Phaetons. Already the resale value has tanked. Further, I question whether parts might be hard to obtain.

So Far So Good - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Illinois owner - September 1 - 7:30 amSignificantly depreciated value / price of this 04 car made it a great value. Solid feel with incredible performance in a "better than limo" luxury experience. So many bells and whistles that it takes days to train self on all functions. Three complaints: navigation system is antiquated, complex and only provides minimal information and tire pressure sensors are very sensitive and wont read correctly in very cold conditions and finally, cannot turn off seat-belt tone which is bothersome if you just want to sit and wait for someone without being buckled up.

Coco Grey Beauty - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Mr. Adams - May 25 - 5:33 pmThis is a great full sized luxury car I wish that the gas milage was better. This car has more standard features than the Mercedes S-Class and the BMW 7-Series. When it comes to comfort If I am not driving I am in the back seat where I can really stretch out my legs. I like owning a car that is unique and not seen very often. Since I have had my car I have only seen 3 Phaetons on the road and this makes the car special.

Wonderful Car, but It was a Lemon - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By john matter - December 1 - 5:56 amThe Phaeton has an amazing design inside and out. It is by far the nicest car I have ever owned (which includes BMW, Porsche, Mercedes). However, in slightly more than two years it was in the shop twelve times. The dealership was great, service people fantastic, but the car has just too many issues. The electronic stuff and programing just are not durable. VW hit a home run in design and struck out on reliability. This is the least reliable car I have ever owned.

Car as hobby - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By sooththetruth - November 21 - 6:50 amI craved this car for months, shopped for 6 months, and found a great deal, with remaining CPO warranty. The car is a dream to drive, and the ride unimaginably good. However, you learn that this is a finicky monster to maintain properly. The tires wore quickly because the alignment went out, and there are few places that no how to align it. Without a long term warranty? A transmission is 10K, and the wrong transmission fluid was specd when new. The speaker wires break. The regulators in the doors go bad starting at 60,000 miles. This is a car for people with money to burn, and two cars to drive. Oh yeah, the build quality is the burden of ownership, maintaining the dream.

Nice car - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By corral - August 14 - 4:30 pmThis car is far better than any lux car that is not a "exotic" Some small improvemonts are still needed. a touch screen dvd nav system, xm radio, better gas milage, blue tooth phone system and make standar the technology package. It needs parktronic it is so large. The power trunk seems like a toy but there is no way to close the trunk with out leaving hand prints on the beautiful finish. Also an improved keyless acess system like the one in an audi with touch stare and mabey head up disply and sonar cruise control. Vw has done a great job just some fine tuning is needed.

Great car - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By phaeton - March 29 - 3:16 amI gave my Volkswagen Phaeton V8 ratings of build quality and reliabilty lower marks because the memory settings for seat, mirrors etc are very unpredictable. They dont seem to hold the settings. The dealer is working very hard to train me or fix the problem. My dealer is very good. Every thing else about this car is the best a very nice luxury car. People do notice and say "This is a Volkswagen?"
