An incredible used car value - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By noahas - September 6 - 4:03 amComing from a BMW 7 series, I was concerned, but this is a fantastic car at a great value on the used market. Make sure to get a CPO or aftermarket warranty though just in case. They seem to be quite reliable, but no doubt quite costly once the warranty runs out. The interior is huge, the engine very powerful, and enough little touches that show they thought of everything. Only downside is that VW dealerships dont know how to service customers for a higher end vehicle like this. They are used to people buying $15k cars, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus are not and thus, do it right. Buy it!

Classic Bargain - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By RMU - April 27 - 9:56 pmI bought this car at a very substantial discount, because nobody wants to pay a price the car deserves, being afraid of telling their friends that they drive a VW. This car is beautifully finished and engineered and a pleasure to drive. HI have not had any issues during the first 20,000 miles. As long as the dealership will support service, this is a keeper for a long period. I am not longing back to my three BMW 740ILs, which had substantial more quality and repair problems.

2005 Phaeton - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By julie foster - April 24 - 4:43 pmI have never owned a more luxurious vehicle. It has every option you could possibbly ask for in an up scale auto. The ride is as quite as any Cadilac, Mercedes, or BMW we have owned over the years. This is truley the auto buy of the decade.

The New Phaeton - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Martin Proyect - December 24 - 2:00 amExtraordinary value for Volkswagons high-end entry. I have driven some fine Mercedes before, but this car is the best riding, most comfortable, gadget laden vehicle I have ever had the pleasure of driving. The interior is extremely luxurious and roomy. The sound system is peerless and the gadgetry, while numerous, is user friendly and easy to learn and master. This car is somet

great car - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By great - October 8 - 8:33 amThere is only one problem with this car: Every time you turn the car on you have to go into "economy" and turn off rear air conditioning. Do the Germans always drive with backseat passengers? Overall nicer than an Audi A8L even when the Phaeton is stock.

Great Car! - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Jmac - August 26 - 9:50 pmBest interior for quality, comfort and looks of any BMW, Mercedes, even Audi. Performs well. Edmunds cites heavy weight impedes handling. My view is the extra heft makes for a quieter more comfortable ride. I like having the VW badge. It gives me a great car without the high profile prestige factor.

you gotta get one!!! - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By rnisco - August 6 - 7:46 ami have driven my Phaeton over 4500 miles and am convinced it is one of the finest cars made. I have taken it to 128mph and it is composed and quiet. My wife, who is always asking me to slow down, said to keep at 100mph. The suspension and brakes are just wonderful. I have owned 500s and 7501l and this is my favorite. It is the best road car I have ever owned. Gas mileage is great at 80 to 100 mph- but city mpg is poor. They should have their own badge - it would sell better if it had its own division.

Best of the bunch - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By drlink - June 18 - 11:00 pmDrive any other car in this category - BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc. If you can get past the marquee, you will realize that the Volkswagen Phaeton V8 is the best put together vehicle of the bunch. it has perfect fit and finish and comfort on long trips like none other. I hope they dont pull the plug on this fine car.
