the best kept secret - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By jj - February 22 - 5:23 pmI love the drive, comfort, design and logo of my Volkswagen Phaeton V8. When you want something that is unique, go for this car and let go of your ego. I appreciate the weight and the substantial feel of the car.

Pleasant surprise - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By De Jonge - February 18 - 2:13 pmI happened upon this vehicle by chance and am very happy for the outcome. I am very impressed by the engine muscle, interior comfort and subdued exterior design - not in to the prestige vehicle badges. The car wants to go at speeds more compatible with its design. I have a hard time keeping it under 80 mph. Indeed, in one instance I was pressed to accelerate only briefly and quickly reached 120 mph. Its fuel economy is not good, with average city driving yielding about 16.5 - 17.0 mpg. I always look for excuses to drive this car - a wonderful feeling. I also look forward to my first road trip - should be fantastic!

Beware - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Scott - February 16 - 2:40 pmIn the first 18 months my Phaeton was in the shope for repairs a total of 19 times. It left me stranded on the side of the road twice. I had an A8 prior to this and am now getting a Lexus LS 430 to replace it.

2005 Phaeton is Audi/Bentley indisguise - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By bsdtwd - February 1 - 9:48 pmAside from a few switches, lack of auto chestnut covers on front air vents, massage ac/heated seats all the way around and about $80,000 you can SETTLE for an Audi A8L or a Bentley Flying Spur. The Phaeton is amazing. All the above, with soft close doors, a 270 Watt Bose 17 speaker system, a great manu shift tranny w/ AWD makes it a dream car in stealth mode. Best thing Ive ever driven. A True Luxury Rocket. Found a 2005 with 29k miles. Gotta go drive it. Getem before theyre gone. Best Lux Bargain Going. VW should try again with 2013. Sells well in Europe. Bring on the auto bahn.

WOW! "TUV" THE ULTIMATE VW - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By WOW!!!!!!!! - January 16 - 6:50 amI have owned many new cars since 16. I am now 35. Mercedes C, E, and S Class, BMW 7 and 3 series, Audis, Lexus, Jag, and Acura. I also have a 04 CLK 320 in the garage. This VW is the best car Ive ever been in. One month ago I bought a 05 VW Passat 4 motion to use as a winter car. In about 8 hours I will trade the Passat for my new Silver VW "PHAETON". I have never been as excited about any other car Ive ever bought. This is truly the best car ever built. Go drive every other car then drive this, you will be impressed!!!!

All in All Good - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Uday - December 5 - 10:53 amWhen I first saw the car I had the same reaction as most, why on earth would VW want to get in to the Luxury market. However, after getting in to the car and viewing the Top Gear review on it I was completely sold. The car is everything for people who like to wear their brand names on the inside rather than all over their clothing.

Surprise,Surprise - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By LAL - December 1 - 2:00 amI got behind the wheel I fell in love. The feel the appointments, ie: the massage, air conditioned, heated seats.. the way the dash is put together.. the indirect airflow on the AC/Heating system and the sound of the telematics, and the all wheel drive, enticed me to buy this car. the superior customer service I have recieved.they pick up the car for service and for any problems,I called them they came with a loaner car and delivered my car back the next day washed and in perfect condition.. I love the idea of not waiting or going for sevice. LOVE the car and was very surprised that VW could do such a great job,

Great Ride - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By jack - October 23 - 12:53 amI have now had this car for one year, and it is going back to the dealer for the first time, with nothing to do other than usual 10,000 mile service. I get good mileage 18mpg around town and 22 on the highway. If you want a sporty set up, you can adjust the suspension setting. If you want faster response slip it into sport setting. Nary a problem, you and your family will feel safe and secure at all times. Best car Ive ever had, and there have been many from all the top brands. Just wish VW would do a better job of promoting this great car, but then again maybe its better this way because you can have a truly exclusive ride for a reasonable price.
