driver found - 2003 Volkswagen Eurovan
By eurovan - April 24 - 10:00 amI have always loved the design of the current body. It is so european. The design fulls you, as being a mini van, but it is by no way tiny inside like the rest. My first week I took a drive to Yosemite. It handles like a tight sport car, on the winding roads, not top heavy at all. If more people only knew, and only $25,000.00. Take a test drive soon and you"ll see.

good, but coud be so much better - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By gary warren - April 22 - 2:46 pmAs a salesman with bulky samples to lug around it is perfect, small outside, huge inside. "removable" seats arent very sophisticated, the driving position is very awkward, needs the Passat tilt wheel ( why DIDNT THEY!)also needs a REAL overdrive to help improve mileage. The handling is quite good, feels solid, it IS a little noisy at speed . I have over 58,000 now and dealer says the A/C compressor might need replaced ?(choke) overall, it took awhile to "get used to" but it suits my needs quite well.

Fun in a box - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By Californian - March 30 - 10:00 amThis van is a blast. We have the rear configuration where the seats face eachother. Kids actually fight to ride in our van - often leaving adults carpooling on their own. If you are not into your kids and thier friends, this van is not for you. Plenty of power, stylish, fun to drive. Get lots of comments.

Not a typical Minivan - 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan
By Pennsylvania - October 24 - 10:00 amWith little interest in a van that has 16 cup holders the Eurovan wasthe perfect match for our clan. The seats are a pain.I now have my mechanic remove, storeandinstall the rear seat when needed.A/Cis powerful. The engine never lacksneeded speed. When you first drive this car,you sit up high like a bus driveran experience that takes getting useto. Never do I feel thattipping/rollingis an issue. The middle seats and the A/Ccompressor have broke. This oversized beast is missing the bells and whistles Soccer Moms demand. However,my van can haul 7 adults comfortably, a dog, groceries and luggage for a week and never feel under powered.

What will I do without my Eurovan ?!?! - 2003 Volkswagen Eurovan
By Eurofan - October 22 - 10:00 amI gave this van 10/10 for design, though i realize many people wouldnt think this way. This van was built for practicality, not faux luxury, and that is why it didnt survive in the American market. We bought this van 3 years old, with a pretty hefty number of miles on it, while stationed overseas. It racked up a ton of miles, and the only two problems it ever gad, were, suprise its a volkswagen, electrical: not terribly expensive, and totally manageable if you know what youre doing. No mechanical problems whatsoever at 7 years old, and almost 125,000 miles ! We were rear-ended and totalled this weeked at a very high speed: van didnt collapsee in toward us at all ! Nothing like it :o(

3 Year Update - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By jeff66 - October 12 - 8:33 amI originally wrote a review back in Nov. 2002 when the van had only 5500 miles on it. Since then I have had no problems what so ever. Overall, the performance has been excellent. Had the engine replaced after my father hit a drainage grate on a newly built section of highway and it took out the oil pan - thanks WSDOT ! Engine replace with lower mileage engine and so far so good. The fuel economy is a little less than before, but may be due to using regular unleaded and more city driving - averaging around 16.5 - 17 mpg. Had to replace tires at 25K, and babied the Dunlops to get this much out of them. Keep wheels balance and van aligned per schedule. Otherwise van has been great.

Excellent vacation mobile - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By rtt108 - September 22 - 2:00 amThis is the perfect family van. Useful and fun! The MV seating configuration sold us. Traveling with kids is great. Handling is tight and precise. I did add a european headlight switch to activate the rear fog light circuit, and installed a rear fog light. A lot of technical advise is available in Yahoo Groups, under: "ev_update" My wife gets a big kick out of teenagers stopping her in parking lots to tell her "Thats a really cool van!". NOTE: I find most written reviews on this van to be either wildly inaccurate, or so full of personal bias as to be useless, if not offensive.

A Nice Alternative Worth Considering - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By EuroDad - July 11 - 10:00 amA good value given the standard equipment. Materials do not feel as cheap as in some competitor vans. Drives a bit more truck-like than some competitors but not harsh. The view is commanding and pick up is outstanding. Weve averaged about 19.5 MPG so far. Features such as the storage shelf in the rear are great. My wife loves the room and that she can actually move between the seats easily as we are loading things. Build quality is generally good, but glove box has broken twice and a rattle in the door pillar caused by missing/ damaged liner clips from the factory was disappointing. Response from VW has been sympathetic but not what we hoped.
