  • Love my weekender its fun to drive - 2003 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

Wish they would bring it back to the states. Great for weekend getaways and a portable office while parking along the California coast on highway 1 near Big Sur. I bought a 2016 Mercedes Benz Metris cargo for the heavy work but, its not as nice. Ill never get rid of the European Weekender.

  • Best Vehicle Yet - 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

Ive owned many types of cars and minivans but our 2001 Eurovan weekender is by far the most flexible and fun even though its now 13 years old. With 3 small kids and time off, my wife and I meandered 1,600 miles across California off the beaten path and had way too much fun. Its a home while on the road and the club seating means the kids face each other for hours of travel without fatigue. Anywhere we park the kids have a hangout. Mechanically its quiet and powerful. We change the oil and trans fluid more frequently than specified by VW. It has 131,000 miles and still drives solid. Visibility is good and interior size feels generous. We are not a bells and whistles family.

  • After 5 years - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan

This is a follow up review of a positng I did in 2002. EV now has 38K on it and I have not had a problem. Suspension is still great. Had engine replaced at 17K as my father hit a drainage grate that was sticking up on the a new section of the I-5 freeway and took out the oil pan, which damaged the motor - thanks WSDOT ! I dont drive this much as I am overseas for 4 1/2 months/year, but every time I return it starts up just fine. Only needs routine maintenance. The resale value is very high in my area as well.

  • Ultimate soccer -mom van - 2000 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

I have owned two Eurovans and two Vanagons and the VR6 is the best driving car of them all. It has an awesome engine, though more thirsty than the 5-cylinder version and much more powerful. It is a very comfortable highway cruiser especially for hauling the family and dog to the cottage every weekend. It is the most popular car at rainy day soccer games, with kids inside at the table and under the huge rear hatch. The rear seating is such that kids interact more and play cards at the table instead of Game Boys. Maintenance has been reasonable and been limited to the expected parts that wear-out. Since being off warranty, weve used experienced VW mechanics, but not the dealership.

  • A Break from the Cookie Cutter Transport - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

With just over 5000 miles and a trip from LA to Lake Tahoe logged this past December, I cant say enough great things about my family Eurovan. Its got plenty of power, handles very well and has plenty of room. It performed exceptionally well in the snow and dry raod conditions.

  • Bus - 2000 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

The "bus" has been an excellent, reliable car for almost two years. It has better visibility than SUVs, is fast and most importantly, has a huge interior. It is a perfect vacation road car for a family of five. We have had only two problems, a leaking oil cooler and water pump, both repaired under warrantee in less than a day, each. The bus is unique, not many on the road, and drives very well.

  • Its not 1972 any more! - 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

Originally purchased todrive our daughter from PA to FL to college, it has become an everyday favorite of mine and our first choice for any long distance driving. Exceptional power and handling that actually feels "Sporty", even on small country roads despite its boxy appearance. The geared down 201HP V6 has great power. The weekend 4- some fits easily with 4 sets of golf clubs. Great at winter driving with ABS and traction control. Access requires quite a step up which can be problematic for older individuals.

  • Awesome Performance - 2003 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

This is my second Eurovan and my fifth VW van. This 2003 model has awesome performance compared to other VW vans. The pickup is outstanding and the traction control (ESP) is the best Ive ever driven. Braking is excellent. The only complaint is that I’ve had to replace the brake pads at thirty thousand mile intervals (using factory brake parts). It’s a solid vehicle. The VR6 engine is a monster!

  • Accessible & Space!! - 2003 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

Roomy second- and third-row seats, lots of headroom inside the cabin, responsive steering, capable brakes, only van door that meets ADA standards for door opening to accomodate wheelchair without modification. VW has a real gem of a disabled accessible rear cabin. Add only ramp and hold down and you are good to go with a wheelchair thanks to easy in/out of rear seat! Cons: Handling takes getting used to...especially around corners or parking, wind noise on highway similiar to early Suburbans, no driver-side sliding door or side airbags.

  • This aint no minivan! - 2003 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

Just got the van after researching the other minivans. Major "coolness" factor with this vehicle. Had to trade in my Audi A4, but worth it for my wife and growing kids. Plenty of room and utility. Not many bells and whistles, just the basic amenities. Nice feature, we can all sit facing each other and use the built in folding table to eat, play games, family time.
