  • We are leaving the fo;d - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan

This has been a nightmare. The broken air conditioner in the first month, ruined our vacation plans (we spent it in the repair shop instead) The tires wore out by 10,000. The seats are impossible to get out or back in. We think they are in securely and then 1 hour later they fall out, with a child in the seat. Cant drive with the windows open. The whole car vibrates and sounds like a helicoptor. Bad choise. Never again.

  • Mechanics nightmare - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan

Bought a Eurovan used with 60,000 miles. In great condition when purchased. Car computer died at 80k, the dealer told my wife the car had "a head ache" and it would cost $2500. I refused and insisted it must be under warranty and under my persistence was then covered by my warranty. Hmm. The car drive like a giant box. The interior is average, the seat are uncomfortable for long trips. The cup holders and plastic part break. A sliding window took 5 trips to the dealer, 18 hrs, and $600. The transmission is going out at 120k, and the brakes are expensive and require special tools. One door handle is broken, the window is stuck, the dealer says $500 to fix. AC died. Hard to find a mechanic

  • Too many problems - 2000 Volkswagen Eurovan

We actually have the EuroVan Camper. Its more driveable than other conversion vans and handles well. My wife, who is fairly short, can see traffic well. The tranny went at 9k miles. Weve spend about $2000 in repairs this year alone. We paid a lot for this vehicle expecting quality - and its been nothing but problems.

  • One problem after another - 2003 Volkswagen Eurovan

Weve had one problem after another with our Eurovan. Great when everything works correctly. The outside door handles have now failed twice (both front doors!). Told by VW that its not a design flaw, out of warranty and paid nearly $800 to have them fixed only to have the drivers side fail again 6 months later. Now I cant unlock the doors with the keyless entry or hand key without them locking again immediately. Looking for a replacement vehicle now.

  • VW Eurovan is a Lemon - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan

I have had this vehicle back to the dealer multiple times to repair "brake failure" warnings. They are unable to repair. VW told me that they cant help me. I will NEVER buy another VW.

  • Stand Out In The Crowd! - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan

The most roomy and best looking of all vans Ive seen.. Great to take out one of the middle seats and its almost like a living room! We have 2 small kids and this is the best ( cargo and comfort) for a road trip/vacation. Have yet to have any problems to speak of.. A/C went out but dealer replaced it promptly (covered on warr.) Ride is nice but lots of noise from outside. Id buy another in the future...

  • good, but coud be so much better - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

As a salesman with bulky samples to lug around it is perfect, small outside, huge inside. "removable" seats arent very sophisticated, the driving position is very awkward, needs the Passat tilt wheel ( why DIDNT THEY!)also needs a REAL overdrive to help improve mileage. The handling is quite good, feels solid, it IS a little noisy at speed . I have over 58,000 now and dealer says the A/C compressor might need replaced ?(choke) overall, it took awhile to "get used to" but it suits my needs quite well.

  • Fantastic multi-purpose vehicle - 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan
    By -

We bought our 2001 Eurovan used in 2006 with 70k miles. Now, in 2014, it has about 130k without any major mishap. That said, expect to spend about $1500/year on maintenance AND they are notorious for having the transmission die ($6K repair) between 40k-70k miles. 9 years later, our van has taken us on multiple camping trips and has gone to Burning Man several times. The engine runs a little rougher than it use to but it is still a very nice, drivable car for a large van. Sadly, I dont think our van will survive for very many more years because various bits are starting to fall apart, but it has not had a gentle life (we park it outside, take it camping, have kids, etc.).
