This Year's Model Updates:

The standard 4.7-liter V8 now delivers 282 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque and is hooked to a five-speed automatic transmission. The Sequoia also gets a new front fascia and grille, redesigned taillamps, an in-glass antenna and color-keyed fender flares. A new sport package for the SR5 includes foglamps, tubular running boards, a height-adjustable rear suspension, a front skid plate, the JBL premium sound system and 16-inch alloy wheels. A new Limited Luxury package includes second-row leather bucket seats, a removable center console, unique wood trim, electroluminescent gauges, the height-adjustable rear suspension and memory for the driver seat and outside mirrors. Other additions include available push-button engagement for the 4WD system and an optional navigation system. There's also a new rollover sensor that triggers the side and head curtain airbags in the event of a rollover accident. A third-row center headrest has been added to all Sequoias.

Pros:
  • Refined drivetrain, surprisingly agile handling, versatile and comfortable interior, Toyota reputation for reliability.
Cons:
  • Nondescript styling, low towing capacity for a full-size SUV.

My wife loves this car; everything from the comfort to the design, the power on acceleration, handling, the sound system, the silence when the widows are up, cargo space, the navigation system, back up camera, satellite radio and the DVD player.

For my needs and my dollar this vehicle is perfect. The only things I would work on is improving gas efficiency (good now for a powerful engine) and improving the side wheel covers on all four sides to take bumps better. Just for luxury add a DVD player as standard equipment in the limited model.(: Thanks for my dream retirement car.

I told the dealership to find me the top of the line Sequoia, and they did. What a great vehicle! In addition to the top notch Toyota quality you get a huge SUV - comfortably seats 7. You cant beat this truck if you need space. I couldnt be happier. Ive had it since July 05 and, of course, have had no problems. Avg 15-18 MPG.

Suits all the needs of as busy household with children, pets and things to haul. Also spacious. Great accessories/features in the Limited model. Plenty of power and a smooth ride front and back make it a pleasure to drive long or short distance.

  • 2005 Sequoia - Better Than 2002 ! - 2005 Toyota Sequoia
    By -

I traded in a 2002 SR5 Sequoia with 60,000 miles on it. Zero repairs, never a minutes trouble - loved the car. Wanted the new 5 speed auto transmission and larger engine. The trade in value was too good to pass up. The new 2005 has 4000 miles on it after 1.5 months. 2000 miles in one trip. 5 speed transmission is a plus. Some of the exterior features are not as "robust" as they were in 2002 (running boards) The extra 40 plus horsepower is a real "kick" when it is needed!

This SUV was my first. This is a very good and powerful car. Although the exterior was alittle too oldish but I like the interior. I love leather. This car was very comfortable. I know because I took a 10 hour ride and my children were very comfortable. That my review on this car

  • Excellent SUV - 2005 Toyota Sequoia

Real safe vehicle, rides smooth, sturdy, reliable, handles like a luxury vehicle. The appearance is quite appealing. The thing that attracted me to the Sequoia was the look of it. I already knew about the value in owning a Toyota, the longevity of the engine but since the Sequoia came into production in 2000, I believe, I thought WOW they finally did it. After being impressed with the Land Cruiser, but not its price, Toyota went and duplicated the effort in a 20,000 difference. Im proud to be an owner of the 2005 Toyota Sequoia and hope that this body style doesnt change any time soon, after all why mess with a good thing?

Very nice and very reliable, the only problem with Sequoia 05 is there is NO automatic door hatch in the back and its hard to operate when it rains or when you have something in your hand and consumes a lot of gas,but the rest is ok its very powerful.
