  • 4 wheel drive.....not! - 2010 Toyota RAV4

We bought the 2010 Rav4 base model 4 cylinder because we owned a 2003 4runner and wanted better gas milage. the Rav4 boasted 21 to 27 miles per gallon. Yeah right! More like 21 all the time! Also the "4 wheel drive" isnt really 4 wheel drive. It is only active until you reach 25 mile per hour! Then its just a two wheel drive. And did i mention the suspension? It was sooooo stiff you get beat up in the drivers set day in and day out. Over all i was very disappointed and paid wayyyy too much for this thing! it just felt so cheap! Well we traded it in this week for a 2009 Subaru Forester!

Purchased my Rav4 in Oct 2010 enjoy the car very much. Easy to drive and did very well in the snow during winter. I get an average of 23 mpg. In June 2011 I was rear ended while I was at a stop and the person was going 50 MPH and the car did so well in the accident. I was very impressed how well it took the hit from the other car.

  • Great Performance, Great Car! - 2010 Toyota RAV4

I bought my second Toyota Rav4 this fall to prepare for the New England winter! We just had a major snowstorm, and the Rav4 performed flawlessly. I felt perfectly safe at all times, and the Rav4 even navigated unplowed roads and driveways just like they were summer roads! I LOVE THIS CAR!

This is my second RAV4 and I didnt hesitate to buy it. Though I did enjoy my prior Base model V6 this time I went with a Sport model 4cyl. This is my top choice for its reliability, space, look, 4x4 option, moderate price and most of all safety. This 2nd vehicle came about after an accident resulting in a total loss, but I can not speak enough about the structural integrity this vehicle retained under duress.

  • Feel every bump on the road - buy sports - 2010 Toyota RAV4

Dont buy unless you want to feel every bump on the road - The sports model with Flat-Free tire has a very noticeable bumpy ride. At this it is very annoying, with the vehicle wobbling, driver shaking like he has convulsions. Works well on a smooth and even road, which is not realistic to expect. This ride quality does even come close to 10-year old Camry and 4-year old Sienna.

  • Good Small SUV - minor irritations - 2010 Toyota RAV4
    By -

Wife and I bought new RAV4 in May. Got the 3rd row seat option as we have two small boys. Seems like the usual Toyota quality from a mechanical standpoint. Ample power and interior room. 3rd row seats will only work for children in the younger than 10 year range. Not a lot of leg room between 2nd & 3rd row, but lots of different configuration options with 2&3 row seating. Negatives include interior door panels on driver & passenger side that encroach leg space. Some discoloration on the edges of panel because of leg rubbing - very irritating for a brand new car. Dash display button on steering wheel is unnecessary. Top glove box storage bin feels cheap. Good car overall.

The Toyota RAV4 is an amazing vehicle. The ride is smooth and quiet, it hugs the road, is fun to drive, has amazing interior styling. I LOVE it! The best car I have owned yet by far!

  • So Far Not A Favorite - 2010 Toyota RAV4
    By -

Whoever writes all the positive reviews on the Toyota Rav4 Sport definitely did not drive a Chevy Tahoe prior to downsizing, which was a big mistake. For us, its hard to find the good that outweighs the bad. Hopefully, the Rav4 will have a decent trade-in value as we hope to rid ourselves of it soon. We read tons of information regarding this car. We have not found the economy, comfort, pep, or anything else. Our average mpg is 24, far from the 28. The ride is rough, and the passenger seat and seating area is the most uncomfortable ever! Even the steering wheel is misplaced causing uncomfortable driving if going any distance. Also, very poor stereo sound system and very loud road noise.

  • I should have had the V6 - 2010 Toyota RAV4
    By -

Have had this car for 2 years now and clocked 20k miles on it. From the outside the Sport package is quite handsome and aggressive. I dont even mind the tire on the door. Then you get in and drive it. The 4 cyl/4 speed gets the job done, but there is no joy. The handling is good for a Sport Ute but can be jarring and at times uncomfortable particularly on long trips. Tight cabin for a 6 tall guy. Interior bits are cheap. Theres plenty of space for your stuff which is why we purchased the car, but coming from a 04 BMW 325i this car is a little disappointing and leaves me longing for days of yore. Toyota cheaped out on this car and it shows.

  • GREATEST CAR IVE OWNED - 2010 Toyota RAV4
    By -

This is the greatest car Ive owned. Fun to drive, responsive and the gas mileage is better than claimed. I HIGHLY recommend this vehicle. I dont really see why anyone would want the V6. 4 cylinder has plenty of get-up and go.
