Toyota has given the RAV4 a midcycle freshening for 2004. Notable improvements include a larger 161-horsepower, 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, a mild restyling that gives it a more aggressive appearance, and inside, a new steering wheel and instrument panel. Standard equipment has increased significantly, with stability and traction control, antilock brakes, air conditioning and a six-speaker stereo heading up the list. Multistage front airbags are also new this year, and side airbags for front occupants and full-length head curtain airbags are now optional.

  This is the best vehicle Ive owned hands down. After owning Jeep, Dodge, and Ford vehicles, I opted for this Rav4 and couldnt be happier. It handles well and after careful examination of the engine components, it is clearly better built than Jeep Liberty. Plus the Rav isnt nearly as thirsty at the pump as the Liberty.

  Ive owned other small SUVs and this one is the best yet. Great handling, good gas mileage and Toyota is great when it comes to customer service. Ill purchase another when the time comes.

  Waited over a year to FINALLY locate my RED AWD RAV4. It was sooo worth it. They just dont have any of these in the Southeast US. It drives like a sedan, looks great, handles well,and decent mpg for an SUV. Recently had FOB installed and considering other accessories. Planning to keep for a while. Liked so much bought a black RAV4 for the wife. His-n-Hers Rav4s...very happy couple. Looking forward to winter driving to see how AWD performs. Takes the sting out of giving up my faithful 4Runner. Toyota build quality and resale value make this a real peace-of-mind purchase.

  Vehicle has far exceeded our expectations. I have found this fun to drive and it has excellent cargo space and the side opening makes loading less stressful. I find the drivers seat not deep enough thus doesnt provide adequate leg support.

  I love my RAV4. I went looking for a CR-V and found this car. It drives great, gets better gas milage than quoted, and runs great. I got 31 mpg on a long trip with the A/C off. I love the stereo controls on the steering wheel, which keep my eyes on the road. It is easy to park even in tight spaces and easy to turn around.

  Ever since I have purchased my 2004 Toyota RAV 4, I have only experienced true, effecient, and quality results from my SUV. It is an extremely fun to drive, gas thrifty small SUV and has just enough space for me and all my stuff to fit in comfortably. I especially love this car for its sporty and refined looks and its off-road capabilities. I feel like I can take it anywhere and still recieve the renowned Toyota driving experience.

  I was never a fan of the Rav4. Earlier models were very unattractive. When my wifes lease expired on her Honda Accord, we began looking for a compact SUV that she would be comfortable driving. With some reluctance, I convinced my wife to look at the Rav4. She had owned a Celica and a Corona in the past, and liked Toyotas vehicles, but she had the image of the original Rav4 (with its ugly side panels) in her mind. We ended up purchasing a black Rav4 L with step rails,a roof rack, full power, and leather interior. We are both huge fans of the Rav4 now, and probably will buy another one when our current one gets older.

  My wife and I are really impressed with all the attributes of this vehicle. We originally purchased to tow behind an RV, but we love it so much we use it everywhere. The interior room is really great for the two of us and hauling. The outside dimensions make it a great tow vehicle with a dolley.

  SUPER good vehicle - my favorite ever. Great acceleration, nimble handling, just plain fun to drive. Reliability is great, stability on all types of road surfaces is superior.
