  • Great utility and fast! - 2007 Toyota RAV4

I have had my Rav for about 2 months now. I purchased Sport V6- great handeling and one of the fastest vehicles toyota now makes. There is very little wind noise on the highway at any speed. The driving position is comfortable although the seats are on the firm side. Lots of interior storage and the rear door opens to a nice flat floor. The floor storage is great for smaller items although you would be surprised how much can be fit in there. My mpg is averaging 20 city and 26 hiway- excellent for 269 hp! The added weight of the V6 up front really helps with snow/ice traction also.

  • First Impressions are Everything - 2007 Toyota RAV4

First day impressions (07 RAV4, 3.5L, AWD Sport): This is an excellent vehicle. Tight as a drum build quality, straight forward controls. Very intuitive. V6 performance is amazing. The transmission likes to down-shift to get moving in a hurry (sometimes its too eager). Mixed driving averaging 22-mpg (based on first 100 miles). Even with the AWD model, some torque steer is noticable under hard acceleration, the engine is a free rev gem. Steering is precise, well weighted. Middle-end sound system is very good (6CD/MP3/Aux). Gauges are very easy to read. Accessibility for drivers/pass/trunk area is excellent. Seat comfort is very good, not quite a "10". Will submit a longer-term review soon.

If you want a reasonably priced SUV that has a LOT of power and versatility, look at this one. Some people may find the ride a bit rough. Unless you are shelling out BIG bucks for variable suspension, there is a compromise between the responsiveness of a stiffer suspension, and a smoother, "I cant feel the road" ride. Its all about what you like. The Limited IS highly responsive, but also has a reasonably smooth ride. The interior quality is good (I didnt say great!) and in-line with the price. The rear seats can be moved forward or back, accommodating large passengers or more cargo. Its a mid-sized SUV that offers some interesting features for a reasonable cost. Go for the 6cyl version!

  • RAV4 after one year - 2007 Toyota RAV4

Audible beeps when merely locking/unlocking doors is EXTREMELY annoying. It sounds like car thief alarm. Gas mileage is horrible, not even getting the minimum. No leg room for driver (Im 61") with the electronic seat.

  • Great all around vehicle. - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

The original set of Yokahama tires wore out around 32,000, and were replaced with a better set of tires. I had the steering knock issue, and Toyota was aware of the problem, and fixed it at no cost to me. Also a oil hose was fixed at no cost even though the warranty had expired. The RAV4 is one of the best vehicles Ive ever owned.

  • V6 Power - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

The V6 has power and makes the car fun to drive. It is great on the highway. But there is a lot of wind/road noise in this car. For a car of this price, I was surprised that there was so much road noise that it makes conversation difficult without raising voices and feeling like you are yelling. The drivers seat is uncomfortable during any longer drive. The seat should be more like an upgraded Camry seat instead of an ordinary budget seat. The passengers seat seems to be more comfortable even without all the adjustments. It is a good urban car.

  • Rav 6 cyl front wheel drive - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

The front wheel drive works great, even off road. Saves gas. Get 20 in town, 26-30 on highways. The hill start feature is wonderful! Have used it over large mountain ranges. Traction control and stability are great also. Extremely reliable. We take it camping and the space in the 6 cyl. in more than the 4 cyl, so it is perfect for that. mine has side air bags, as well as front airbags.

  • Transmission Whine 40-60 MPH - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

Transmission developed an irritating whine from 40 to 60 mph. This problem seems to be wide spread and Toyota does not seem to be addressing it. The whine definitely overshadows the good points of the SUV. Just another instance of Toyota stonewalling buyers.

  • Love It!!!!!!! - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

Ive only had my Rav for 3 days now but I absolutely love it! Mine is Black with light gray(ash)interior. I cant get over the fact that only being able to afford the base model isnt a sacrifice. There are so many features that come standard its unreal.Fuel economy is remarkable! Ive put 173 miles on it so far and I just hit a half a tank. Ive been driving it all weekend getting to know it. The Rav 4 is fun to drive and handles beautifully. There is plenty of cargo space and with the seats down its perfect for my 3 huge dogs. The only thing I dont like is having a car payment again. I love the looks it gets too when driving down the street. Go buy one, youll love it!

  • Great SUV - 2007 Toyota RAV4
    By -

My wife wanted a new SUV to haul the kids around, but she did not want a mammoth trucklike vehicle. The RAV4 is perfect. It has all the room, with the carlike ride and gas mileage. Tops in this category by far.
