The Matrix receives a revised front bumper, taillights and grille to freshen up the exterior, along with a new audio head unit design, optional side curtain airbags and other minor interior changes. Stability control is also newly optional.

• Versatile cargo area, roomy rear seats, good gas mileage, generous standard equipment list, availability of all-wheel drive and stability control.

• Modest torque output, less fun to drive than its styling suggests.

  Vechile purchased to meet mileage, saftey and poor road conditions( rain/snow). Driver comfort a plus due to long commute. Interior space very good for both front and rear seat passengers. Interior space accomodations for items very good due to flat fold seats and deck material. Standard features and xr option packages left little to be desired.

  I downsized from a Ford F150 Super Cab, and havent missed it. My fuel bills have been cut by 2/3. Im 64" and surprisingly fit very comfortably, even with our family of 5 in the car. Its a lot of fun to drive, especially with the manual transmission.

  My wife and I have done a LOT of research before purchasing this vehicle. We were sold on Toyota by the fact that her 97 Tercel has had no problems and just reached 90k miles. Their vehicles are just exceptional. This car is not the fastest on the road, but it is plenty fast. No other car on the market offers the versatility, performance, luxury, and low price.

  Clearly the best value choice for a new car at this price. The space and utility combined with fun to drive, features and economy cannot be beat. interior has incredible space and versatility. Though considered less sporty to drive than some others, I enjoy being behind the wheel very much. Has some clear shortcomings at this price in terms of quality and safety that are usually overlooked by reviewers but I find important in real use. Impossible to find perfection in any car at this price, but this vehicle does the best combination for space utility, reliability, efficiency and affordibility. If there was a Lexus version with more power, safety and nicer interior, same value, Id buy it.

  Toyota 5 speed matrix owner--- this car is a great care and i will miss her.This toyota is going on her second transmission at 160k, one trans came with the car the second one came from toyata parts dept new. Toyota says no know problems with 5/speed they must not look online,or why do they stock so many in the wharehouse if there is no problem. I can see clutch problems from many driving styles but the trans imploding and the clutch and p plate and throwout bearing are still fine. Toyota you are on your way to being GM---we do not know anything about your problem. The matrix is a great car buy the automatic-- Toyata will not stand behind the 5/speed Car will go 300k or 3 5/speeds why

  This car is quality throughout. It was delivered in absolutely perfect condition. Handling is good. Driving position is great, and cargo capacity is amazing for a car of this size.

  We purchased a Matrix after owning four long lived Toyotas. For 05, the tail light design is sportier and the ground effects incorporate the fog lamps. The Matrix has plenty of room for two kids. The front seating position is very comfortable. Most small cars in this category make me feel like I am sitting in a hole. So far so excellent. Not one complaint. Then again, it is Toyota.

  I live in Upstate NY, and I must say that the AWD Matrix handles winter weather exceptionally well. Also, as a college student, the space the Matrix provides (especially when the seats fold down) is extremely accommodating. I practically fit my whole dorm room into this wagon! I love the Matrix so much that if I was ever to purchase a new car, it would definitely be a newer version of the Matrix, I cannot see myself driving any other car that fits my needs. The gas mileage for an AWD car is amazing: I drove from Oneonta, NY to Rochester, NY on a full tank of gas and I had above a half a tank still available. Ive also found it to be very fun car to drive and the seats are very comfortable!

  This car is fun to drive and is small. For my husband and I it is perfect. Its got a lot of get up and go capacity.

  Its almost as fun as my MR2, cooler than a minivan, slowly chews the dinosaurs (gas), is functional inside and people love my indigo ink exterior. Weve owned 2 other Toyota vehicles over the last 20 years - my wife and I put over 500,000 miles (not kilometres) on both and spent just under $900.00 Canadian total in unexpected (not routine maintenance) cost between them!
