16K miles and still happy - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By trixfan - February 5 - 10:00 amThis is a great all-around vehicle for carrying lots of stuff or people, especially for long trips. It is very peppy around town. The interior has lots of space and headroom to spread out without feeling cramped. I love the seats; it has a much more spacious back seat than any other hatch. There is body roll in tight turns, but the suspension is very tenacious. If you check Edmunds six-car comparo, look at slalom numbers:it was within 0.3 mph of the Mazda Pro5, and handily beat everything else in the test! Yet it still damps bad pavement and potholes really well. SUV space with the performance, emissions, and fuel economy of a car and Toyota reliability.

Best Car Ive Ever Owned - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By Me, Myself and I - January 18 - 2:00 amWow! That about sums up my experience with my 2003 Matrix. The _ONLY_ issue Ive had with the car in 14 months and 51,000 miles is a rattle in the dash at about 20k miles. Although it took two trips to the dealer to get it fixed (I got a written appology for not fixing it the first time from the service manager), it hasnt reappeared in over 30k miles. If I were to improve one feature of the car, it would be the winter fuel economy. I get between 36 and 40mpg in the summer and only between 32 and 34mpg in the winter. My next vehicle will be another Toyota.

When it was 150K miles I did preventative maintance on it myself(saves money). Front struts, radiator hoses, spark plugs, all fluids, serpintine belt and tentioner

Whats not to like? - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By SoccerMom - December 30 - 2:00 amI havent had this much fun driving a car since my old VW van (just an old hippie at heart). I have the 5-speed manual and really like the placement of the stick. It has been fun teaching my 15-year old how to drive a stick - so far the Matrix is taking the abuse and my kid is starting to understand how much fun a car can be to drive. Thanks Toyota for such a fun yet versatile car!

By Kyla Ensor - November 17 - 2:00 amI have had a very good experiance overall with this vehicle. The service has been easy and Toyota has been very helpful....now as for the car itself. This car makes the drive to work fun. You can haul just about anything in it because all the seats fold down and there is a huge cargo space in the back.....its surprising how much space there is. Perfect car for a chic in her 20s....space to haul, space for friends, awesome sound system just enough power to put some guys in their place. :^) Im 21 and I can afford this car, it looks good for work, works great for play. I think the value of this car vs. the price comes out to equal a great buy!!

Just a great value vehicle - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By bzzd - November 15 - 12:33 pmWe bought our 2003 Matrix used in 2005. It had just over 20K km on the clock. It now has 260K. It has really been trouble free motoring - replaced 2 wheel bearings otherwise only routine maintenance. It has maintained a very adequate fuel economy. We love this vehicle so much that we are buying a 2013 model with as close as possible the features of our present one. Everything still works fine.

By sibordelik - November 11 - 10:00 amThe car looks and drives great! Gas is no subject to my matrix~! The car is all around perfect!~ 2 probs.. a little difficult to get used to looking out the back of the car.. and once in a while in the winter you may get a egg smell from the tailpipe from the over oxygenized gas in the colder weather.. that is due to all the envirmental protection devices in the car.. its a zippy great looking car. I have gotten tooooooo many compliements on it!

No problems yet - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By Scott - October 29 - 10:00 amI bought my car with 85,000 miles on it from the dealership almost 3 years ago. It now has 116,000-17,000 miles on it and i havent had any issues yet. I keep up with all maintenance. She has never let me down yet, and I have a lot of future plans for her.

Good car - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By counselme - August 30 - 10:00 amGood car. Had to trade in a new Mustang for a family car. Looks sporty and has plenty of room all around. Miss the horsepower, but it is reliable and safe. Great visability and easy to drive.
