  • I wish I could Buy one new. - 2000 Toyota Celica

I bought my dark blue 2000 Toyota celica brand new in 2000. I was lucky to find a promotional car with no sunroof. This is the only way my 6foot 5 inch frame would fit. I fit perfectly. Plenty of leg, head and shoulder room. One of the few modern Japanese small cars I can fit in. This car was completely trouble free for the first 80,000 miles. I just changed and flushed the fluids and replaced the stock tires every 50,000 miles. Replaced the breaks and spark plugs every 100,000 miles. At 200,000 miles I replaced the struts and the clutch. The only problem I have had has been a check engine light that came on at 80k. That light would come and go over the next 100k then never come on again.

  • A slice of life - 2000 Toyota Celica

The 7th gen Celica is certainly a welcome change from the previous model. Following the recent trend, new high-revving, powerful, yet efficient (excellent fuel economy!)engines have made this car a blast. My GT is pretty quick, but the Celicas selling point has never been its speed alone - its the handling! This car handles like a go cart! Whats great is that you get all of this with Toyotas typical reliability and quality attributes.

  • What a great car! - 2000 Toyota Celica

I traded in a new 99 Cougar for this car. And, oh, what a difference. The Celica is the first manual Ive owned (not driven though). Ive had the car now for almost 2 years and loved every minute of it. Real fun to drive, handles like a go-kart. The car also looks great! Ive added the TRD groud effects package (now called the Action Package). The interior is laid out like a cockpit. 30,000 miles now and no problems what-so-ever. Im even on the original brake pads. Great car, I would highly recomend it.

  • Super Little Pocket Rocket - 2000 Toyota Celica

I bought this car used with 82K miles on it. It drives like new, and never ceases to amaze me with its grip on the road. It is practically as if it were moving on rails, point it where you like, and it hugs the road while making the turn. Add that to Toyota reliability, and the combo is hard to beat. The automatic transmission is adequate for my practical needs, but for spirited driving, I would have preferred having a manual. The car has plenty of get up and go, but I somehow miss the vrooom of the lower gears that I could have got out of the 140HP engine (which is pretty dang good when you combine it with the light and small car that it is) with a stick.

  • Great Car with weaknesses - 2000 Toyota Celica

Ive got this car as sort of a graduation gift from my parents when I was looking on the dealer used car lot with my dad. I feel in love with it at first sight and still do dearly love my celica. The strengths in this car (handling, braking, looks, style) are hard to beat in any other comparable car. Unfortunately it does have its weaknesses: Torque, horsepower, huge blind spots) Also to add: They stopped making it after the 2005 year. Scions are the replacements but I just wish they rejuvenated the Celica for 2006 like they did the Eclipse.

  • Overall bargain - 2000 Toyota Celica

I have had the 2000 Celica GT since 03/2000. No mechanical problems or complaints. Good pick-up, great fuel economy. Sporty car with luxury features without the initial or maintenance costs.

  • I LOVE MY CELICA!!!! - 2000 Toyota Celica

I have had my car for 3 years now and I absolutely adore it. It hasnt been in the shop for repairs once. I am a fairly petite person so it suits me perfectly. All the buttons and controls are within arms reach and it feels like being wrapped in an airplane cockpit. I can zip around town and go around corners with ease. The stock stereo doesnt sound half bad, either. My only complaint, like everyone else, is that the interior scratches easily, especially where the seatbelt hits the door. Youd think they would have done something about that. All in all its a great car and I would definitely buy another Toyota.

  • EXCELLENT - 2000 Toyota Celica

This is by far the best car that I have ever owned - the reliability is superb, the economy is excellent and the design is fantastic. The car is comfortable and all instrumentation is easy to reach and use. We bought this car new 5 years ago and have experienced no mechanical problems - it is made to go a lot of miles cheaply, plus it is very fun to drive. The handling is comparable to more expensive cars, which provides a lot of satisfaction. It almost seems like nothing on this car will ever break. Insurance is also inexpensive. Highly recommended - mine is not for sale, but you can find another used one.

  • Long time owner, still a fan - 2000 Toyota Celica

I have owned this car for almost a decade now. Ive had it stolen, the rims were stolen while I was in Basic Training, and crashed it at least 5 times (once for over 10,000 dollars worth of damage, lol) I still love this car. I finally bought it three years ago, and am now finally finishing a lot of the projects I thought, my meager budget could handle (stereo, performance parts, etc.). It was rough on clutches, 2 in the last 100,000 miles, or maybe I was rough on clutches. Great brakes, only changed twice. Tires normally go out about every two years, but you cant have everything. (I blame the stopping power.) Im having trouble finding what to replace.
