No one does it like Toyota (except for Lexus, which is part of the same company). During the last year, I have owned a Mercedes E300, 2002 Toyota 4Runner Limited, Land Rover Discovery SE, and now have a 2003 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 Limited with navigation and sunroof. My 2003 4Runner beats them all. The Land Rover had annoying ergonomics (and 17.4mpg); the Mercedes had continual electrical malfunctions (but 34mpg (diesel))and the 2002 4Runner was just a bit too small.

A fun suv. Noise free interior. Gentle ride. Lot of add ons in standard features.

This by far is the best sports utility on the road. We decided on the Toyota after road testing the Loredo, Dakota, Explorer & Sport Trac. No other vehicle had the Toyotas power, handling & comfort. Love the full time four wheel drive and engine torque. Average gas mileage has been around 20 MPG. More than I expected from a sports utility. The new body style is very sharp.

  • SUV OF THE YEAR - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

Excellent handling and performance. I LOVE my SUV! I’m getting 21 mpg, which is very decent. I can’t wait to take it off road! I compared it to the Ford Explorer, and it was NO match. If youre even thinking of another vehicle, test drive the 4Runner and youll see the difference. I ended up paying more (interest rate) but Im glad i did.

  • Great SUV minor complaints - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

Great performance, truly tough vehicle. The ride is very smooth, interior comfortable and roomy. Only problems are (1) front ceiling height is low for very tall person (espec with sunroof), (2) Bad sunroof rattle started at 2000 miles (dealer says they tried Toyotas recommended adjustments on six 4runners and it worked on three). Mileage is 17 around town, 20-22 highway with 5-speed auto trans and V8. Cant tell any difference between various octane fuels.

I have put 12,000 miles on this vehicle in 6 months. Not a single problem. This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. The acceleration is great for a vehicle its size, and off-road this thing tackles any type of terrain I take it through.

This was the ultimate truck for me. Although I wanted a 3rd seat, I didnt need it. I also wanted a sports sedan. This is a SUV that looks good and drives like a car...a fast car (with the V8).

  • Love My 4Runner - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

I bought my 03 4Runner 4X4 Sport edition in March (had it for 6 months now), and although I was a little leary about the price tag....I love this vehicle!!! Ive towed with it, traveled back and forth between PA and TN (several times) with it, gone offroad (by the way, offroad has been a blast, I may have found a new hobby!), and continue to use it for all of my other daily driving. This vehicle has been nothing but superb since the day I first test drove it!!! I love my 4Runner, and if you want a rock solid, reliable, fun, offroad, onroad, workhorse that will last for a long time...you wont be disappointed with this one.
