This is my first SUV. Im very impressed with all aspects of this vehicle. Toyota merges comfort, reliability, style, and utility very well.

The V8 seems to have adequate power, and the torque will no doubt make pulling a trailer a breeze. It is amazing that only Toyotas have the sliding rear window. Our dogs are going to love that feature. Stereo seems adequate (we have the base model), but would have liked to see an AUX port or an MP3 capable CD player. My only regret is that we didnt get the auto-dimming rear-view mirror/compass. The trip computer is nice, but previous posts have questioned its accuracy. I will be looking at that more closely over the next few fill- ups.

WHY make a back window that would go down with the remote access and not be able to go up I feel like I am looking at the sunvisors every time I get in this vehicle. there are people with long torsos. AND the fact that you have to be Godzilla to pull the back door down? it would be nice to have at least two phone portals or should I say phone/computer or just plain more than one in the front. I find the one near the console VERY cumbersome. Sounds like a lot for someone who rather likes the vehicle but that window is BAD!!!! and those door locks are horrible!!!!!!!!

  • Love My 4runner - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

I love this thing. It has great acceleration, handles great on or off road. We have the jbl premium sound system, this has a great feature for kids in the back. They can listen to what they want and I can listen to what I want. It is really fun in the snow and mud.

I bought my 4 runner approx 3 months ago and wasnt sure about getting the limited model, compared to the base model. After having the limited model Im glad i decided to go the extra mile. The car is well worth the money and i love driving it. everybody is jealous of my new ride. It has been very reliable and it really keeps its value. Plus the safety features (8 airbags) and anti-lock brakes make me feel safe anywhere i go. I have the V8 model and love the power, the gas mileage could be better, but if you buy an SUV with a V8 what the hell do you expect? I give the vehicle a 10!

I bought this 4Runner after owning two Hondas. I love the power offered in the V6 and the interior/exterior design is great. My first SUV is a winner. Very happy with purchase.

Had 14 new vehicles in 30 years this is the best ever owned. Traded my 98 4runner. Own a 01 vette and have hard time deciding which to drive. 4Runner is very pleasing to drive.

  • The Best 4Runner Ever - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

This is my 3rd Toyota. This in my opinnion is the best one yet. Lots of Power from the V8. The old 4Runner was a bit lethargic in comparison. Smooth shifting 5-Speed Automatic transmission and quiet at a mouse at 70 MPH. Bravo, Once again Toyota has come up with a real gem.

I just bought a 2003 4Runner sport edition with the optional V8, 2WD, and it is amazing. I always wanted a 4Runner, and could finally afford one. It is great. I should have bought it years ago instead of an explorer that blew a head gasket and needed new lifters after 85k miles. I am only 24 years old, and drive hard, and it keeps up with me. Being in real estate, I need a nice car for clients, and a reliable and low maintenance suv that I can fit my familys stuff in when we go out for the weekend. This is an awesome vehicle!!!
