The Toyota 4Runner has been redesigned for 2010, bringing greater on-road refinement without giving up any of its traditional off-road prowess.

Pros:
  • Strong V6, outstanding off-road capability, pleasant on-road demeanor, ample cargo capacity, available third-row seat.
Cons:
  • Cramped third-row accommodations, no V8 option, weak and inefficient base four-cylinder.

  • Great 4x4 in the era of crossovers - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

We just picked up our new 4Runner - I have to say - after seeing the new Explorer today I am so happy with the decision to buy the 4Runner - this is a real 4X4 SUV and includes everything we could want in a truck. We opted for the 3rd row with leather and convenience package. The fit is perfect, the interior is perfect and the drive is what I would expect from a 4X4. I cant wait to put the truck to the test and I will be sure to post an update at 10,000 miles. In my opinion (after owning an Explorer, Mountaineer, Tahoe, Equinox and Jeep) this is the best deal out there. Nice work Toyota!

  • So far, so good! - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

Traded in our 08 Highlander Limited, needed something over 6001 lbs for business tax advantage, very impressed with new model, drives very similar to the HL, but definitely a truck vs HLs car-like drive. We actually prefer to be up a little higher, but it does lumber around like a truck, no worries for us tho. Just as roomy, third row seems smallish, but ends up almost exactly same size and functionality as the HLs. 2nd row has plenty of room, fit and finish are excellent - thx Toyota! Gas mileage as expected - this is not a Corolla folks, dont get a heavy V6 truck and think you can coax 30 mpg out of it, considering what the 4Runner can do, 19-23 mpg is fantastic! no complaints

  • Better Than Reported - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

Forget about the sour rating by C.R. This is a great vehicle so far for the month weve owned it. Nice, quiet ride, good handling, peppy V6, good mileage at 19 overall. Smooth shifting trans. Huge cargo area. High quality leather pkg. option adds luxury.

  • I LOVE OUR 4RUNNER LIMITED - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

Weve had the truck for one week and have yet to take it off road, but were anxious to do so. It is appealing to the eye, gets good mileage for a vehicle of its size (averaging 20 mpg combined open freeway in the a.m. and stop & go in the evening). Interior and exterior appointments are excellent and well constructed.

  • After 1 month and 1500 miles - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

The ride is comfortable both in city and highway. The interior design is okay but the exterior design is eye catching. I love the height of the truck. I am getting 18 mpg on mixed driving which is good for a vehicle of its size and class. I live in NY metro area and was always scared of driving over huge bumps and potholes. Now with this truck I embrace them with smile. After driving a high end German sedan I would have to say, if you wan a reliable transportation stick with TOYOTA. They have been making 4WD trucks since last 6 decades and I have seen them lasting forever with minimal maintenance.

Overall Very Good, needs running boards and mudflaps. Also, very attractive vehicle, needs more options.

  • My 2nd 4 Runner - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

Traded my 04 for the 2010 in December. I live in the country with lots of blowing drifting snow so I knew it would be another 4 Runner for me. Love the styling and going with the full leather package was a wonderful upgrade for me. I have found nothing lacking in comfort and styling in this model. I was very disappointed that running boards were not standard as they were in previous 4 Runners, had to have my dealer retrofit them as I was having difficulty getting in and it was expensive. Also all weather floor mats should have been available! Preferred the tailgate assist too. Dont think it has as much pick up as my 04 until you hit the passing gear!! Overall satisfied with purchase!

  • New 2010 purchase - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

New Purchase in Silver with dark interior. Very solid, secure feeling when driving, smooth shifts, 8way speaker system has a monster bass, not a quick-like-a-bunny feeling when getting on it, but a steady comer. Good viewing, very comfortable cloth seats, excellent handsfree system, ipod plug in, shift handle. 4x2 purchase for the highways.

  • Great SUV - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

4 Runner was delivered the day before blizzard hit New York. All features really help drive the SUV in the snow, we tested it in various parking lots and rear wheel slippage is greatly reduced. My wife loves it, very roomy 1st and 2nd row. Only have 250 miles on it and averaging 15 MPG, hope it goes up.
