My 4 wheel Safety machine - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

It accelerates wonderfully, great sound system, every air bag thats out there, and has the toyota reliability that we require. This is my 3rd generation 4 Runner, and by far the best. I could only hope for a hybrid version of this best in a tuxedo!

By WiggyDinks - May 15 - 2:00 amTraded a 2000 4Runner for the new 2003. Wow, what an improvement! And I thought the 2000 was nice! There is so much more power in the new one. All the traction systems make it way easier to control as well.

Great truck! - 2003 Toyota 4Runner
By jkeyser - April 29 - 10:00 amI love my 4 Runner. The ride is as smooth as many sedans. Rough pavement is barely noticeable. Road and wind noise are almost non-existent. It has very good acceleration and low end torque. Toyota has definitely solved the perennial problem of 4 Runners being under-powered. I dont see why anybody would need a V-8 except for towing a heavy trailer. I tow a 15 aluminum boat and it handles it great except going uphill at altitudes above about 5,000 feet. Off road performance is great, too, just take off the running boards before doing anything too rough. The downhill assist is a very nice feature and the granny gear has GREAT torque.

Best vehicle Ive ever owned - 2003 Toyota 4Runner
By rufus42 - April 8 - 2:39 pmWe bought this vehicle new in 2003. It now has 120,000 miles. It has been fun and comfortable to drive. The mileage is 20 mph highway and 17-18 city. There was a rattle in the moon roof and a squeak in the left portion of the front bumper when it was new. Both were repaired under warranty. The front brakes pads and calipers were replaced at 102,000 miles. Replaced burned out brake lights and yellow front corner lights at about 100,000 miles. A dash light burned out at about 118,000. The dash light cost about $97 to replace since I had it done by my shop. Other than these relatively minor repairs, it has been just routine maintenance. I plan to keep this vehicle for another 120,000 or more.

By stevec - March 28 - 2:00 amWhat can I say? They hit the nail on the head. I Bought it and took it on a 3000 mile trip. The seats wear on you after a few hours, but it is so smooth and accomodating you have nothing else to complain about. I have never driven a vehicle this refined. Toyota has taken the SUV to a new level. It will be the benchmark.

By tj - March 28 - 2:00 amIts been one of the few new vehicals I have ever owned that didnt have at least one defect. If I could change anything it would be the Electronic Throttle control. I dont care for it. doesnt give a true feel of the power when under a load.

Excellent Suv, Worth Every Penny - 2003 Toyota 4Runner
By logans truck - March 5 - 2:00 amHave had 4-Runner since July , Love the ride, and the performance,have the V-6 engine , very quiet, dashboard is laid out very nicely.Great sound system, and getting 22 MPG on the highway. I would definetely buy another one ! Good Job Toyota !
