Overview & Reviews
The Toyota 4Runner has been redesigned for 2010, bringing greater on-road refinement without giving up any of its traditional off-road prowess.
- Strong V6, outstanding off-road capability, pleasant on-road demeanor, ample cargo capacity, available third-row seat.
- Cramped third-row accommodations, no V8 option, weak and inefficient base four-cylinder.

Just right (almost) - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By Mr. Eclectic - March 26 - 5:20 amI was looking for a body-on-frame SUV with excellent reliability and good mileage. So far, so good! The ride quality is great for a truck and road/wind noise is low. I find the driver comfort high, but suspect that it could be a challenge for those over 62". Vehicle handling is very good for a tall, truck-based platform. Worst feature - the iPod control is a joke. Scrolling through songs/artists is done in chunks, each set taking about 2 seconds! Further, it goes back to the "A" position after you start a song. I quickly abandoned that route and use the iPod through the AUX input. The Toyota software developers should be ashamed of themselves.

Child of 83 Landcruiser and 05 ScionTC - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By surfsnow - August 23 - 10:00 amI have driven my 2010 4Runner 1100 miles and I am very happy. I have finally given up driving my 83 Landcruiser and this is the perfect replacement. It is almost identical to the 83 FJ60 in interior room and design. I feel like Toyota has reached back in time and found the perfect replacement for the old Landcruiser. The previous 4Runner appeared too wimpy (styling) and the FJ did not offer the visibility associated with the original Landcruisers. Im happy the truck does not have mud collectors (running boards). I am also retiring my Scion TC and I have become a one car household. The 4Runner is a pig compared to the scion but, that is to be expected. Overall, very happy.

Love it with one exception... - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By NFLAGIRL - May 30 - 11:43 pmI like the vehicle on every level (body design, fuel efficiency, performance, etc..) with one exception. Every single time I am at a traffic light and the A/C is on, the vehicle shakes slightly. Even the very first time I took it out! I paid $41k for it and am disappointed and alarmed by this. However, I must comment that my husband absolutely loves our 4Runner.

Bastard child - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By 4Runner5thGen - May 9 - 4:03 amDo you know what you get when you cross the FJ Cruiser and the 4th generation 4Runner? The 5th generation 4Runner. I affectionately call it the "bastard child" regarding its new look. A combination of each. I understand Toyota is discontinuing the FJ and I believe they intentionally designed the new 4Runner to reflect both looks to appeal to both buyers. I just traded my 2004 Sport V8 AWD for this new guy and yes it has a few shortcomings in comparison but I hope I love it in the long run as I have my 04.

Nice car with minor issues - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By jonny165 - February 4 - 2:40 pmJust picked up my 2010 magnetic Grey, very comfortable drive, great in snow and ice, but after 300 miles, steering wheel began to vibrate and the brakes are acting up bad. Have to bring into dealer after one week of owning.

Love This Tuck - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By Jena42183 - February 9 - 7:30 amI just bought my 4Runner SR5 4x4 6cyl on Saturday at DCH Brunswick Toyota in N. Brunswick NJ. The dealership was great and gave us a good deal. I absolutely love the truck, its such a smooth ride for an SUV. Ive had a 2003 and 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee and this truck is 10x better. I will be back in another 3 years for another!

4runner fan - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By Turtle - October 7 - 1:56 amI previously had a 2004 4Runner but wrecked it. Loved it! Went 109,000 miles with only normal maintenance. Never changed a light bulb! Have had the 2010 for about a month. It is very similar to the 2004 with a few minor changes. It is larger which I like. Miss a couple things about the old one compared to the new one.

Like it but not love it - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By 1st4RUNNER - April 12 - 2:00 amIve driven older 4s and they felt more solid, this one drives solid, but doors shut tinny, would wait a year to buy, Im guessing somethings will change, pull out back floor should be an option period, waste of space. Brakes go soft quick and transmission struggles to find a gear, engine and transmission dont seem as smooth as past 4s. Lots of bugs, one day rear defrost works next it doesnt, move side mirrors and rear defrost works again. Anti-lock brakes gave out and now no problems. To keep cost the same on new design Toyota definitely cut corners. Like I said "like It not Love It" for the price I should LOVE IT! Trailer Hitch too short for receiver cause of the full size spare.
