I keep looking for a more practical, better milage, more "green" vehicle that will handle my needs. I research every new suv, stationwagon, hatchback, etc. I cant find anything old or new to compete with the new style 4Runner. A vehicle for any "season or reason". This is the most balanced, smooth, performining V6 on the road. I have had 6 diff SUVs. This is near perfection.

  • Absolutely Terrific! - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Ive owned 4 Pathfinders, two Blazers, two Tahoes, and a Jeep Wrangler--there is absolutely no comparing these SUVs with my new 4Runner. This vehicle tracks better, rides better, and gets better fuel economy (21.1 avg for first 2,900 miles) than any sport utilty Ive driven. I also own a 2003 Honda S-2000 and a 2004 BMW 330ci, but I find myself driving the 4Runner every chance I get!!!

Had a 94 4Runner as a second vehicle, sold it w/168,000mi and still going strong, only very minor rust. Great vehicle, no major mechanical problems so bought another! Love the changes made in 10yrs. time especially handling and ride. I ski patrol in the Michigan U.P., my old vehicle always started, always got through any driving conditions (and Ive been through them all). Expect the same quality and reliability in my new 4 Runner! Never considered any other vehicle. Cant say enough, just buy one!

...but still very behaved on everyday roads. I was a bit overwhelmed by my purchaseof this oversized vehicle, coming from a previous owners list of small german-imports.. I was very skeptical. Well, its been a week now and I can tell you that Im pleasantly surprised with the way this car handles and its smooth acceleration.

This is our 2nd 4Runner. Bought it because we loved our previous one so much, but needed 4WD to move to Alaska. This truck is awesome, reliable, durable, go anywhere vehicle. Idrove from GA to AK without any problems, hauling a full trunk, two dogs and my wife. Handles the snow trails without any hitch. Bought it used at 56K miles two years ago. Now has 78K miles. We had owned a limited 2006 and drove it everywhere as well. Sad to traded that one in for a Land Cruiser ( also 5 star terrific), but needed 4 WD. No engine/drivetrain/electronic/brakes/etc problems. HIGHLY recommeded. I see lots of SUV here in AK, but would drive this one any day ( with the exception of the LC)

It was tough to trade in my 94 4R for this black 2004 but its winning me over with very smooth ride, tight handling and plenty of power. Sliding moonroof much improved, provides slight breeze instead of wind tunnel. Gas mileage ok at 17mpg. Ive only had it 400 miles but very happy so far. Not sure if I needed V8 but didnt want regrets.

Nice smooth ride with the V8 fuel econmy same as 2 Exploerers I have owned ample cargo space and rear seats are easy to fold down..rear door closes with ease also..I don t like the plastic bumper and sides..Not enuf lighting of the door switches..

  • Great Truck - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

The 2004 4Runner is truly an excellent SUV. Ive owned it for 5+ years, 88,000 miles and it has never required service for any problem. Mine has the V8 and it is AWD. It is really a perfect drive train combination. Handles well, comfortable, smooth ride and looks great. My only complaint is that the interior needs to be some design improvements and the GPS navigation could be a little better. See suggested improvements. This aside, Id buy another one for sure. It is the best vehicle Ive ever owned.
