  • Impressed with quality and amenities - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

I love my new 4Runner! I compared all mid-sized SUVs out there and the only one I liked better was the Lexus RX 400, which was hard to find used and too expensive brand new. I bought one with a V8 and still am not sure if that was a wise decision or not. Handles on the paved road awesome and even better off the road. I havent really tested it in serious offroad conditions yet but definitely plan to. I love the little extra amenities like the 115V plug-in, digital readouts for MPG and fuel distance calculations, and the rear audio remote and readout. I debated between the Limited and the Sport and then realized the only diff was leather seats and some options.

  • Best Vehicle Ive Ever Owned - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Ive owned 3 Toyota trucks and two american 3/4 ton trucks in the past that I greatly enjoyed, but this new 4Runner takes things to a whole new level of pleasure. Vehicles just dont get much better than this! The V8 and 5 speed auto are silky smooth with plenty of power. For a V8 it gets decent milage 15-16 city and 19-22 highway, the best being 24mpg. The JBL sound system is the best factory system Ive heard, although it could still use more bass. I do wish there was an aux input for an mp3 player though. The ride is pure pleasure. I could go on and on about how much I love this truck, but Im limited to 700char.

The experience has been better than expected. The smooth responsivness is incredible. It is fun to drive and will be a while before the excitement wears off. I dont have many cons on this vehicle. The one thing that could have been done better is the climate contrals. I cant seem to get used to the multiple steps to get what I want in climate comfort. Overall, this vehicle has been mt best SUV I have ever owned.

In Aug. 2004 I decided to buy a brand new 4Runner Sport Edition V8. Thinking that I too would buy a new one after it started showing signs of use, its quite comical actually before owning a 4Runner I had got new cars about every 2-3 years, due to maintenance and worrying about breaking down. I travel for work throughout New England for work and still have yet to ever have an issue while driving. I take very good car of my cars and do a lot of preventative maintenance when not on the road but still this SUV has paid for itself at least three times over. I just ordered a new 2014 4runner today and will be giving my old one to my niece for the summer.

I recently purchased a 4runner, and let me say it is by far the best SUV I have ever had. This is my 4th SUV, having a Blazer,Rodeo, and Explorer previously. To make this short, Ill take the 4runner over my Lexus GS 400 anyday!

  • Not a pretender SUV - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Sweet on road, a beast off, for those who want extreme truck toughness w/o sacrificing feel and function. No clue whats up w/ Edmunds rating, but it does exactly what it was built for. Opt for the X-REAS system - Toyotas clever shock upgrade that removes 90% of the "truck" feel.If you want the absolute best vehicle for deep snow, heavy mud, old overgrown logging roads, or raw mtn. climbing, anywhere near this price range, this is it. Short of an H2, Land Rover or Land Cruiser. For better mileage, car frame, more storage, no truck ruggedness, & parts hanging down underneath (low clearance & fragile, but room for more storage above) there are better "SUVs".

  • What else would you buy? - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Our 4Runner LTD has been fantastic. Extremely comfortable and reliable. We change the oil and put gas in it; nothing else. Toyota reliability is reason enough to own this car. The V6 has plenty of power. Off-road and in rough conditions, this vehicle has not let us down. We average 20 mi/ga...pretty decent for an SUV that is driven hard. Relative to a Cherokee, the 4runner flat out is better in corners, accelerating, and overall handling. As for luxury, our other vehicle is a new BMW and I feel more comfortable in the 4runner. We use the cargo space so often. Buying large objects (e.g.furniture). Our lab loves the back, tonnes of carrying space, and moves 4 people on long trips.

I bought my Toyota 4 Runner Sport Edition 4WD as an executive demo (guess I was in the right place at the right time) and I absolutely love it. I do a lot of cycling and both my mountain bike and road bike fit nicely in the back with the 60/40 split back seats. It handles extremely well; many of my friends cant believe how smooth it is on off ramps and turns. I love the head room; front and back seats and have received many compliments on the color (charcoal gray).

I love my 04 4 Runner. It drives like a luxury Car. My mother has a Avalon and it feels the same. It has style class and durability like a truck. Its perfect size for me and my stuff. I would recommend it to anyone who doesnt want a big bulky SUV!
