  • Very Comfortable and Capable - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

I did research for 6 months on new and used SUVs with early favorites being the used Yukon Denali and used Toyota Land Cruiser. I was looking for a highly capable 4WD vehicle that still portrayed a luxury car feel at under $40k. The build quality on Toyota vs GMC (Chevy) was FAR superior and much better looking. The offroad capabilities of 4Runner vs LandCruiser were blurred to the point that Toyota said 4Runner was now their best off- road performer (and much cheaper!). The new size (similar to Ford Explorer), V8 option, and design (interior and exterior) made the new 4Runner a fairly easy choice.

I have owned this vehicle now for almost 3 years and the only thing Ive done is just your monthly/bimonthly maintance(oil, filters, etc.) It is, in my opinion, the best vehicle Ive owned.

  • This Truck Smells!!! - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

I used to own a 99 4-Runner and it was the best truck I ever had. I traded that one in for the 2003 and what a mistake! The car smells like rotton eggs when I step on the gas. They claimn its the gas in the 2003 vehicles. I doubt it. My husband drives a 2003 Mercedes and he has no smell. I tried the Lemon Law and Arbitration. No luck and now I am stuck. Would never buy another Toyota again. I should have kept my 99 4- Runner. Best truck in the world.

  • Great truck! - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

17k miles and still ticking w/ only one problem to date (moonroof rattle). Otherwise a great truck, VERY SOLID, always feel like youre in 100% control. Corners and handles like a dream especially in bad weather or rough (off-road) terrain. This truck never stumbles. Best SUV ive ever driven, previous car was a cushy Durango SLT+ and my SR5 blows it out of the water. Seats are horribly uncomfortable and if youre over 62 like me, legs will be severly punished by these park-bench feeling seats. Get a seat cushion and all is kosher.

  • I love what you do for me...TOYOTA!! - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

I just got my 4Runner tonight. The best SUV in the market! Handles great and very smooth! Quiet drive. Interior with all the creature comforts! Id like to say that everyone should give this a try. Then again, Id like to be the only 03 Toyota 4Runner in my neighborhood so no one else copies...hehe. Good luck looking and have fun driving.

  • Cladding, dash (odometer, TAC, etc.) - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

The design change is excellent except for the crappy cheap looking ugly pathetic cladding. The tri-circular silver dash (odometer, dash) is also a major style flaw. The gauges are smaller than the previous 4Runner edition and the orange back lighting is a joke. This is a 4Runner not a sports car. The shifter is also a sports car design, not necessary in a SUV.

  • Best Truck Ever - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

See above. This is the coolest car I have ever owned, and Ive had some cool cars.

  • Unbelievable dream SUV!!! - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

Considered the 8 cyl but V-6 Greaqt. More HP but less torque. Cant stop driving it. What comes close for $37K? or at any price (except GS or RX 470 0r Landcruiser.
