Have had this for about a month now. No problems to report except that driver side fron wheel was out of balance. Got the SR5 V6 with the appearance packge. Mmakes it virtually identical to the more expensive "Limited" edition but for about 8-10 grand less. I got mine for $25,900 - it is Titanium Silver (Nice!), has the ToyoGuard, Roof rack, fog lights, color keyed bumpers etc. It is VERY sharp looking - looks like the lexus G series.

Have wanted a 4runner for about 5 years now and decided to take the plunge this weekend. Originally looked at the SR5 with appearance package but didnt want to pay 30K plus and not get leather. Ended up in a Limited and though I only have 36 miles on it, I love it. I got a great deal on this, it has every option except Nav and the sales price was $34,270 (plus tax, tags and title) out the door at $35,700. Very nice!!

I was completely surprised that after 10,000 miles there were noticeable problems. The service technician misdiagnosed the problem as a bad power steering pump only to find the true problem being a bad pulley that caused the power steering problem. On the 2nd attempt to fix the problem a new ticking noise in the engine started and I am currently waiting for yet another diagnosis. I drive approx. 30,000 mi per yr, have owned this vehicle for 6 mos, and I am disappointed in these problems so early in my ownership. Luckily it’s under warranty – it is just a pain to have to be w/o a vehicle while waiting for repairs.

Bought my 2003 Sport Edition v8 toyota 4runner with 164000 miles on it. It now has 214000 miles on it. It has not been pampered. I spend most of my time off road. It has been on slick rock, sand, snow, mud, water and has powered through with ease. The only big expense was a routine timing belt change. Other than that I have not had one problem with it. Runs strong, no rattles, everything is solid, everything works, no electrical problems and the truck still looks brand new. I have a dog that is in and out and the seats still look brand new. I put a 2 inch leveling kit on it and have been able to be off road and not high center. Not one oil leak. I change my oil every 4000 miles and thatts it. I plan on driving this until it dies. It will easily make 300,000 miles and still run strong. They are very pricey but well worth the money. The Toyota will out last any car you own. Biggest complaint I have is that I cant buy the exact same year/model brand new. My mom also has the exact same year and model. Not one problem with it. Hers has 190,000 miles on it and has not had one problem... Love the toyota 4runner. Gas mileage sucks but worth it. These people saying they get 23 miles/gallon with the v8 or the v6 are [non-permissible content removed] This thing also tows amazing.. I tow a 7000 pound boat with no problem. No swaying and no power issues.

I love the power in the 4 runner now. Itraded a 2oo2 4 runner on the 2003 and willenjoy the extra power and comfort. I told my wife that the 2003 rides like the Lincoln Town Car of the 70s . that is a real compliment in my opinion .I am proud of my new vehicle and plan to show it to all my friends . Thanks, Toyota !!!!!!

Bought New 12/31/2002 Fully Loaded with V8. Buying fully loaded made it essentially a Lexus GX 470 without the SNOB quotient - also it wasnt even available at the time. It is "pricey" when fully loaded - But worth it if you want the power seats - F/T all wheel drive and an excellent all around family automobile without having a minivan.

Great truck. But it is a truck, not a cute car with big tires. Rides great. No need for the V 8 unless you are towing somthing big. The V 6 has some serious pick up... Great gas milage for a 4WD V6 - We are getting about 21 MPG...
