I have driven a lot of SUVs and this one definitely was the most fun and comfortable of them all. It is very quiet inside and feels solid. Not to mention that the V8 really gets up and goes.

Toyota is "updating" much of its model line this fall, including the 4Runner. I wanted to purchase the 05 before the end of the model year because of its excellent track record and high ratings. Im sure the 06 will be equally as successful, but theres a lot to be said for acquiring a "classic"! The Limited model is an impeccable amalgam of engineering, design, form and function. Its GX470 Lexus counterpart is a really a Limited 4Runner in disguise! My wife and I love the quiet ride, impeccable safety features and rugged capabilites of the 4Runner. Former owners of a Jeep Grand Cherokee, off-roading capabilities with street manners was a must. We highly recommend this vehicle!

  • A good decision - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

Picked up a 2005 4-runner V6 limited in March 05 and thus far am very satisfied. Exterior is visually pleasing as is the interior. Build quality seems exceptional. Controls are well placed and designed. Plenty of cup holders a plus. Drives well for a mid-sized SUV and in comparison to other similar SUVs, road manners are more refined. Actually feels like a tank on the road with regards to safety. Definitely very excited to get up in the morning and drive to work these days.

  • Love my 4-runner - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

I test drove the 4-runner and couldnt believe how smooth it was compared to other years I test drove it. I went through this winter with it. Handled really well. Although I would have wanted Michelin tires on this one and it has Goodrich. Not happy with them in the snow.

I love this truck!!!! I did about two months of research and had a very difficult time deciding making a decision but the super quiet and comfortable ride, the reliability of Toyota, the general comfort, and the resale value of the 4Runner took it. I am in no way unhappy about my decision and if I had to do it over again after owning this one for three months now I would definitely do it again.

  • Good but needs more to compete - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

I love the look of my 4Runner, she rides pretty good. Its a Limited so youd think I would have a lot. On the contrary, no navigation system like other SUVs for that price, the interior lighting is lousy on the doors and it is hard to clear up the truck when it gets foggy, which happens a lot. No iPod hook-up or MP3 player, no bells and whistles so to speak, but I love the outside look.

  • Most reliable vehicle Ive ever owned - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

I bought this car new in 2005 and I couldnt be happier. I travel a lot for work and put a great deal of miles on this truck. Other than replacing the tires at 90K miles (yep, you heard right, 90K miles) and a new set of front brakes, I have not had a single thing go wrong with this vehicle. If youre in the market for a good looking, dependable SUV then the 4Runner is a great deal.

  • I like the 4Runner - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

My 4Runner has been a great and reliable car. The RWD has been sufficient to navigate construction sites and occasional soft dirt without a problem. The ride is more comfortable than 90% of the cars that I have ridden in lately. The visibility of the displays and access to switches and buttons is superior. The V-6 is a strong and nimble performer, the car is fast for its segment. I have had only two problems: 1) electrical problems with locks wouldnt allow driver to unlock or lock the rear right door. 2) A/C switch burned out for some reason.

I drive this SUV in 3 western states covering my sales territory. Its good balance of comfort, 4 wheel drive option, and mid-sized capability. No real complaints. Im not in love with the body style but...

  • Confirming what everyone is saying! - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

Well, Ive waited about 5,000 miles to write this. I love the truck! The looks of the Sport Ed. is awesome. Love the 6-spoke rims! Smooth, solid, quiet ride. This thing handles excellent for an SUV and the steering feel is so tight! Brakes are good, V6 is pretty quick. Gas mileage has been about 19-20 MPG, but my last trip with 4 snowboards on the rack got me ~16 mpg. Only driven in a few inches of snow, but it handled good. Cant wait to get rid of the Dunlops tho. Best vehicle buying decision EVER!
