  • New 4Runner is a huge hit - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

I love my new 4Runner, we test drove every SUV looking for the right one. The only SUV that could match or surpass the new 4Runner was the GMC Yukon. They have an almost identical feel, and are very smooth. The GMC definately has more cargo space and a more powerful engine, but it is also on average about $10,000 more than the 4Runner. The 4Runner is the best choice for someone that likes the yukon, but is dreading the monthly payments. The only down side that I see thus far to the 4Runner is the lack of a 3rd row seat.

We love our 4Runner! We looked at all the midsize SUVs out there and kept going back to the 4Runner. We waited for the V6 to be available, since we wont be towing anything, it has plenty of pick up at 245hp. My husband likes it because it is designed to go off road. I like it because it has a lot of space for our family of five(two car seats and a child in the rear seat, plus the dog in the way back)! It is the perfect balance between rugged and comfort. Very quiet interior ride, tons of standard features. We have driven it both on road and off road and love it. So far we have been very impressed with its performance and quality.

I purchased this SUV on 4/28/03. I was in serious negotion at the Lexus dealership for the GX. The GX was more SUV than I needed and the RX was built on a camry frame and wasnt as versatile. I drove the 4 Runner and loved it. I had an Infiniti G35 and totalled it. I feel so much safer and to tell you the truth, this SUV drives smoother than the G35. (more weight holding it down I guess). I got the base model and figure that the money that I saved, I could invest in a cobra kit car later :) .

Ive had my 2003 SR5 for 3 monthsand its AWESOME!!! I got an SR5 with upgrades and its almost like a limited less the extra $5K. The power and pick- up is GREAT. Very comfortable for 3+ hour roadtrips. My friends like it so much they bought one also last month. I highly recommend this SUV.

Just this month brought home my 4 Runner after trying to decide between the 4 Runner and the new Honda Pilot. The 4 Runners looks won out. After driving it home loved it even more. This is the best of all worlds. Seats and ride are plush and the navigaion system is unreal. You cant go wrong with this vehicle.

interior items break of allthe time, the engine puts off a rotten egg/ sulfer smell when you get on the gas! the front seats are the most unconfortable, the limited version is better.resale sucks on the vehicle.

  • No Complaints - 2003 Toyota 4Runner

I purchased my 2003 4Runner SR5 V8 with 16,000 miles. It now has 105,000 miles and every mile has been a pleasure. This vehicle has only required normal maintenance. I have had no major problems or expenses. I will probably keep it until it turns 200,000 miles and still enjoy it. The V8 is silky smooth, the transmission is solid and trustworthy and this model still looks good.

A month an a half into ownership and I love this truck. A great redesign. It has it all for 4 x 4, highway, and around town driving. Put in traditional Toyota quality and reliability and you have a winner. Ill own this for a long time!
