Outrageous parts and repair - 2002 Suzuki Esteem
By ron - May 16 - 4:53 amGreat gas mileage. Bought car new, but then the interior lights start burning out at 1 year. Interior starts fading, poor material. Air flow modulator went out costing 1000 dollars for just the part. Has 2 catalytic converters, but dont know which one to replace. Cant get it inspected because computer cant tell what is wrong with it. Will not buy another Suzuki after this disaster.

Great value for the money - 2001 Suzuki Esteem
By tony - December 13 - 9:06 amThis car runs very good and has been very reliable. The car came fully loaded with the aero pkg, kyb sport spsn, yokohama advans and sportline alloys. This was a limited edition. At 67k this car runs and handles very well, I use castrol syntec 5w30 in engine and royal purple in tranny. I wash the car with meguires and wax with zymol. The color is deep space blue. I turned the front rotors 2x and replaced the pads also. I change engine oil and filter every 4k miles, since tranny does not have a filter I change tranny fluid every 15k miles, mpg highway avg 28 (advan 15" tires) mpg city 24 avg

A Good Looker! - 2002 Suzuki Esteem
By Brian Devo - September 29 - 10:00 amI bought this vehicle as a starter-car, and I got a nice deal on it. Although I did not know much about the Esteem, I have grown to really like its styling, handling and performance. It took some adjusting, as I was accustomed to driving larger vehicles, I now find this vehicle fun to drive. The vehicle is light, and can get blown around on a windy day on the highway, but I am no longer looking for the speeding tickets associated with faster models, that encourage me to speed. This is a conservative looking vehicle, and just what I wanted...great car, great price!

Extinct- R.I.P. - 2001 Suzuki Esteem
By Funkhybrid - September 18 - 2:00 amI was so happy when I heard Suzuki was discontinuing this model, it was the most intelengent decision made regarding this car, as oppose to mine. This car is a good way to throw out $10,500. ( New) or $16k which is how much it has cost us to maintain. I have nothing positive to say regarding this auto. Except, I am glad we have three years left.

Bulletproof Engines - 2001 Suzuki Esteem
By aaronwolfe - August 19 - 2:00 amWhat is it about motorcycle companies that move on to building cars, they make the best engines. This is the second suzuki Ive owned (the first was a sidekick 4 dr), Im pretty abusive to engines in general, high RPMs & irregular oil changes, and I cant ask for a more dependable powerplant. The rest of the car is only so-so, but I know that the car will still be tooling down the road at well over 200,000 miles.

DONT MAKE THIS MISTAKE - 2002 Suzuki Esteem
By mo - February 28 - 10:00 am3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE MY BREAKS WENT OUT. THE WHOLE RIGHT BREAK PAD CAME OFF AND MY CALIPER WAS DESTROYED. THREE MONTHS AFTER THAT MY BREAKS WENT OUT AGAIN. THE CAR CONSTANTLY SHAKE WHEN I DRIVE. IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 53 DONT EXPECT TO GET COMFY IN THIS CAR. I PAID TOO MUCH FOR THIS VEHICLE AND THE TRADE IN VALUE IN A JOKE. I CANT WAIT TO GET RID OF IT, I WILL BE SURE TO NEVER MAKE A GRAVE MISTAKE LIKE THIS AGAIN.

I miss it already - 2002 Suzuki Esteem
By L.E.C. - October 19 - 2:00 amUntil 3/18/04 I really loved my little Suzuki. I did have to replace the tires and a bumper, which were a little pricey (but this not a ford Focus, so dont expect to be readily able to get parts for cheap). But I love it more now because that car saved my life. I took my eyes off the road for 1 second and ended up rolling the car over four times. Where I was in the drivers seat held up wonderfully. The passenger side, not so hot, but for the impact it took (hitting a culvert in a driveway at 45 mph) it did well. I was able to walk out of the car. The car is totalled, but I owe that I am writing this today to that car.

Great Wagon - 2002 Suzuki Esteem
By R Cowan - September 11 - 10:00 amI purchased this car 2 months ago and already have 8,000 miles on it. It has been a wonderful so far. The quality of the interior is excellent and the doors close with a very solid sound. It feels like a quality automobile and I have enjoyed owning it so far.

sub frame - 2001 Suzuki Esteem
By 724joep - August 7 - 1:20 pmI have an 2001 suzuki esteem wagon bought in 2002 with 4500 miles. as of 10/20/09 it only has 35000 miles on it. Last week we were going to town and the front sub frame just rusted out and broke. Could have been very bad but we were going slow. I called American Suzuki in Ca. and they are looking into it. I hope they man up and help me get it fixed. I have owned Suzuki motorcycles all my life and this is the first car I hope to keep it a long time. So come on American Suzuki and help a guy out.
