Amazing little thing! - 2000 Suzuki Esteem
By Spokane - January 5 - 6:10 pmI bought this car in 2001 with 8,000 miles on it. I Still have the car and now have 130,000 on her. Besides normal oil changes, tires and brake work, the only thing that I have needed to change was the valve cover gaskets! It was a snap! When needed, you have plenty of power. Okay, so its not a Monte, but what do you expect? Its a little 4 banger! Never once has it not started, and has never stalled on me. All in all, for the money, you get a really good running very realiable car.

2001 Suzuki Esteem GLX+ Wagon - 2001 Suzuki Esteem
By Ryan Grennan - November 28 - 9:56 pmIm glad I did my research before finally deciding on my Suzuki Wagon. This wagon is really a hidden gem in the minefield of Ford wagons and the Subaru . None of them can compare to the relibablity of the Esteem. It has the room I needed without sacrificing fuel economy. Best of all, its subtle sportiness gets compliments from classmates at college while still being respectable at the workplace. This car has never given me any problems and from what I have heard, I dont expect any down the line either.

wow.......what a car - 2000 Suzuki Esteem
By chaser1972 - November 12 - 8:06 amhere we go......this is the same car as in the review above. Now, it has 140000 miles on it(I commute 100 miles toand from work each day). I cannot say enough about this car. In 130k miles, here are my repairs: 4 front brake jobs (including the de-laminated brake pad), replaced front rotors once, 2 sets of tires, I had a stalling problem at around 105k that was the ONLY repair that was not wear-and-tear related. It was a throttle control valve or something. I am on my ORIGINAL rear brakes. It has only not started for me once, so I changed the plugs.this was at 120k. New plugs also cleared the check engine light. I really beat this car. Simply, the best car I have EVER owned.

If I could turn back time.. - 2002 Suzuki Esteem
By mike05 - October 10 - 10:00 amCheap body materials, thin paint, cheap interior. Average exterior styling. Poor interior styling. Handles well, but performs average to below average. My automatic hesitates on acceleration, and jumps between gears as I accelerate or decelerate while driving. Headlights are dim, and poorly aimed.

In High Esteem - 2000 Suzuki Esteem
By high esteem - August 30 - 2:00 amMy car has the 1.8L engine and 14" wheels. Built in Japan. Clutch/shifter is ultra smooth and easy, smooth ride, comfortable, and relatively quiet (compared to even Mazda Protege and Honda Civic). Excellent sight lines, supportive seat (Im tall). Leg room about the same as other small cars. Fun to drive. Precise steering, mild body lean. Nice stereo sound. No mechanical problems.

Maintenance - 2001 Suzuki Esteem
By FYJ - August 24 - 7:40 pmWe bought our car brand new in March of 2001. We now have 251,986 miles on it. The only major repair we needed to make on it was in 2005 when we replaced the ball bearings and in early 2007 when we replaced the water pump. Our car - we call her Suzy Suzuki - has been a great investment for us. Our next car for sure will a Suzuki.

Cant believe I bought it - 2002 Suzuki Esteem
By Nilka Alamo - May 22 - 2:00 amIn the beginning I had virtually no problems but over the past few months it is one thing after another. The car isnt even a year old yet. It has been an inconvenience for me to have to take the car back and forth to the dealership. I just wish I would have never bought it.

Great car for the price - 2002 Suzuki Esteem
By sj - April 30 - 11:53 amBought it used (5 speed, wagon) and never had any issues whatsover. With the rear seats folded down, it had very good usable cargo space. You can fit stuff in there you can never imagine in a sedan. Wonder why people still prefer to buy sedans over wagons.

Owner - 2002 Suzuki Esteem
By G Castanier - February 4 - 10:00 amGood acceleration and power. Should get bettter gas mileage for small car. Also parts can be very expensive. Example $88.00 for a wheel cover. Hard to exit car due to lowness of seat.
