  • Best All Around Vehicle!!!! - 2009 Subaru Forester

Recently traded in our 1997 Ford Explorer due to age and recent repairs. Researched all vehicles in the compact/midsized SUV Class. Drove the Nissan Rogue ,Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4. Then drove the Forester. The Forester has an exceptional amount of cargo and passenger room for a "small" SUV. The vehicle handles great due to standard all-wheel drive. We did have leather installed because the only drawback was the cloth seats did not feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend this vehicle because of the great gas mileage (27 > on highway, and 26 combined) and the multitude of safety features. The Swiss Army Knife of all vehicles! Great value, performance, and reliability!

I love to drive the Forester in the city, it is peppy, turns on a dime, and has great visibility. I hate to drive the Forester on the highway, noisy and wanders all over the road in a moderate wind.

Ive had my Forester for about 1 month. Im very satisfied with my purchase. I love the exterior styling, internal (and cargo) space is great. Leather seats are very comfortable. Handling is precise (feels more like a sports car) and pickup is very decent for a V4 engine. The build feel is solid so far, no rattles of any kind. I get about 22 mpg in mostly town driving with some highway - again no complaints here. I love rear visibility and the size of sunroof - this thing is huge!

This vehicle is by far my favorite Subaru owned to date. Just got thru this three day blizzard in Nebraska. This pony went everywhere at all times. In Omaha, Lincoln, Bellevue and all points in between. What all wheel drive is about.

I am very pleased with this vehicle. I went from a Jeep to the Subaru and couldnt be happier. The utility of this vehicle is incredible and its most important function. The vehicle rides, drives, operates great. I have averaged no less than 28 mpg in mixed driving (50/50). I would recommend anyone needing something more than a car, but less than a giant SUV take a look! The turbo would have been nice, but out of my $ range, and sacrificing efficiency may not have been worth the performance - I can buy a motorcycle for those days. That said the non-turbo does great!

I love my 2009 Forester LL Bean Edition, we have gotten a consistent 25 mpg and have had zero issues in the almost 3 years weve had it. We have three reasonably big dogs who fit easily in the back with the seats folded down (and lots of rubber matting!!) and have driven for over 12 hours at a time with the dogs extremely comfortably! I love the "driving for dummies" addition of letting me know my tires are low which has eliminated the need for me to check them and the heated seats are a gem! The drivers seat is my favorite, I can raise it so I can have a panoramic view as I drive and its sleek design makes it easy to park even in tight spots.

  • More Uncomfortable Seats of any car - 2009 Subaru Forester

We were so excited about getting the Forester - great headroom, legroom. We purchased it yesterday and went for our first day trip today. THE SEATS ARE SO SO SO UNCOMFORTABLE. I stopped at one point to lay out on a picnic table at a park along the road. Zero lumbar support...goofy headrest pointed the wrong way, and knees higher than your rump - all the pressure goes to your low back. I am absolutely so so sad Im stuck with such miserable seats in what seems to be a nice (otherwise) car. Im young, not overweight, and in good health - and these seats are absolutely awful.
