  • terrific value for this class - 2015 Subaru Forester

We bought an XT premium a few weeks ago and have taken a couple road trips that included highway grades and dirt roads. This vehicle absolutely wants to move and fast. I had to keep using the cruise as to not risk getting nabbed for going over 85mph and my foot was barely on the gas. I dislike CVTs but admit that this one is pretty decent probably because of the horsepower and torque so that the drone is nonexistent. Love the appearance ( we got foglights, fender guards, and some other accessories.) So far this appears to be a good value for the price. I would not pay extra for eyesight or nav both of which get negative reviews and in the vehicle we test drove (touring) were annoying

Full disclosure: the cars been in my driveway for a day and these are first impressions with more to follow. I obsess on research before I buy and in this case started with a crush on an Acura AWD which quickly faded before I moved on to a BMW 3-Series Xdrive. The idea of a Forester came out of left field and became viable after a test drive. I fell in love with the excellent visibility, easy access and turbo engine (I owned an 05 Legacy wagon GT manual and it was a rocket). The hook - 20K less than a Bimmer and better AWD than its competitors.

  • Exactly what I need - 2015 Subaru Forester

I keep seeing reviews of this car, saying that it is too spartan. To be honest, I only need that and nothing more. There are things that regardless of money, you simply cant find anywhere else aside from the Forester and those things are: easily the best visibility of any vehicule Ive ever driven; best AWD system, best fuel economy for an AWD compact SUV, best safety rating in its class, among the most spacious compact SUV, having among the biggest panoramic sunroof. For those reasons alone, Im extremely happy with my purchase! Honestly, I dont want to pay more for a name or for gadgets that would not make a difference if theres a snowstorm outside and that I needed to go somwhere.

not being able to pair my phone has really turned me off. it is to difficcult to manually put your numbers in. the salesman could not get one in. had more excuses and then said we had to have had gps for it to work correctly. suburu is way behind technology that has been arou nd for years. my last 4 cars had no problem pairing my phone. this is a neccessity for me i work in my car. when they sell the car they need to be specific npt when your picking it up.

  • Lousy trailer hitch - 2015 Subaru Forester

Bought a new Forester Limited in December 2014. Really like some features of the car compared to the 2003 Forester it replaced. Not crazy about the way the engine picks up speed or not. Like little things--leather seats, dimming mirror, back-up camera. Like the added room for rear seat passengers.

  • Happy with my 2015 XT - 2015 Subaru Forester

1 month in, 2600 miles so far no regrets with my 2015 Subaru Forester XT Premium. My overall fuel economy since purchase says 26.8 mpg. Ive had full tank reports of as high as 33. I mostly run mid-grade (89) and throw in a tank of premium every third fill up or so. In short you can get really good mileage if you drive conservatively. It does drop off pretty fast if you like to get into the turbo frequently. But even on tanks where Ive "played" more, I still was in the 24+ mpg overall. I love the turbo power when I need it. Car is very comfortable for a CUV. Visibility is the best of an CUV in my opinion.

  • Pay Attention to the details - 2015 Subaru Forester

I was so disappointed the first time I drove this car at night. The interior is severely underlit. The mirrors, glove box and overall interior lighting are not sufficient. My model also did not have memory seats, which is a huge pain. I found the seats very uncomfortable. My model did not have remote start, so I had the dealer install and I was really disappointed in the way it worked - you still had to start the car again upon entering. The locks do not automatically lock - Subaru says this is a safely feature. Compare other models and the interior features far exceed the Forrester. I traded up to Escape within 30 days.

I have had my for a little over a week. Its been great so far. It is my first SUV and I have really enjoyed the experience. I am not a car buff, just an average driver, but here is my input. Leg room is best in its class by far. Lumbar support and driver seat make a very comfortable ride. Plenty of room to carry my bike when the back seats are folded. Gas mileage is pretty good and I am getting just below about the 27 average except when I am stuck in traffic. This has been the quietest vehicle I have ever owned, which was a pleasant surprise since some reviews of the 2014 model listed this as an issue. No issues in 8 days, but I do not expect any on such a new car.

Just bought my new 2015 Subaru Forester. Price was good, inside room was great - head and leg room. Only had it 2 weeks, so still new to it but a few improvements / upgrades are needed

  • So close to great but ride spoils it. - 2015 Subaru Forester

Just purchased a 2015 Forester Touring 2.5 without NAV or Eyesight. Im not totally convinced I made the right decision. The car feels solid, accelerates more than adequately for my driving style, love the CVT (always has torque on tap when you want it), fuel economy so far is amazing (going by trip computer), Harmon Kardon stereo is excellent, HID headlights light up the road. So why the doubts? First the ride is hobby horse rocky on poor roads. There was a section of I-5 where I thought the vehicle had a mechanical problem it was rocking so much. Second, the Bluetooth phone implementation is unacceptable in a 2015 car. I hope I get used to the ride but Im not optimistic.
