  • Toyota got it wrong - 2005 Scion XB

I think Toyota may have focused on the wrong market. I see a few kids driving, but a lot more older adults. It is easy to get in and out of, loads of carrying capacity with the rear seats folded down. Room for four ADULT sized people, my two teenagers (six foot plus) sit in the rear seats with the front seats all the way back and still have 6 inches of knee room left. Even with all of us in and luggage for a weekend, still gets 30-35 mpg. Only drawback is you have to work the transmission to keep the rpm at 3500+ so you can keep the speed up on the hills. You can cruise at 85 mph with 4 adults quite comfortably. And yes, it will hit 100 mph and still feels rock solid.

The Scion xB is an awesome car. The only thing I would complain about is it doesnt have much HP stock. If you buy some engine mods which are pretty cheap it adds quite a bit more HP. Other than that I would say its awesome! The styling inside and out is awesome. The best thing though is the room inside. I can have my seat back all the way and my dad whos 6 feet tall can sit behind me and hes not cramped. Hes got tons of room! No one can belive how much room it has and how comfy it is. With the back seats laying down flat you have tons of cargo room. Although with them up there isnt much cargo space. I personally rate this car 9.5/10

  • Fun for the Gallon - 2005 Scion XB

Gas prices going higher? (I dont care) This little shoe box hates Gas Stations. Even as an automatic and with a caffeine rush attitude driving technique. Your gas tank will stay full, (It just wont go down to "E") Roominess? My gosh you feel like youre sitting in your living room airy high interior all around huge seats comfy. Sound? Well lets put it this way I added the Bazooka Subwoofer and its like surround sound system in your home. It drives like a cream puff awesome suspension and handling and breaking becaue it also comes with ABS standard. You can move your whole apartment in almost one trip with your back seats flat down. I have nothing but good things to say about my Scion xB...

Love this car! I love the character of this car! The yellow color is definitely visible to other drivers and I get incredible gas mileage. 35 to a fantastic 38 miles to a gallon..on mountain rodes! You cant beat the value and just the looks of fasination on other drivers face when they see my "box".

  • Echo Killer, same car, 200% better - 2005 Scion XB
    By -

We purchased an echo coupe in 2003 we sold an echo coupe with 4800 miles and lost 3000$ on it, at high speeds handling was shakey a wind gust you were in the next lane. With a test drive with the XB, it was night and day, comfortable supportive seats, excellent handling, better options abs standard traction control standard, vsc standard, my echo had nothing like this yet only cost 1000$ less, We have a second baby on the way and the room benind the seats is wonderful for diperbags and groceries. The only down side is the trunk does not have much space behind the seats, and no armrest, luckily aftermarket armrests are readily available, and no cruise control will make trips a little less fun

  • my BOXkar - 2005 Scion XB

Had my car 3 yrs now and I still love it. Will be driving more now that Im retired. Great gas mileage. Do wish it heated up faster. Took over W VA mountains, made them all, just keep the medal to the pedal. I have allowed three strangers (older individuals) who ask about car to sit in it. They were impressed about the ease of getting in and out. Two I saw another time at store and they told me the did indeed buy a Scion xB, on man traded his cat for one. Told me he laugh every time his fills up his xB and takes money to back. Ill never own another car except for the Scions.

I love this car. Needed something reliable, and affordable. Nothing else compares at this price. Would buy one again.

  • LIMITED EDITION SERIES 1.0 LAVA ORANGE - 2005 Scion XB
    By -

Sold my 2003 Honda CR-V EX model to acquire a limited edition Scion. Have been extremely pleased with its performance, mileage, and styling. Being the lava orange color many individuals have asked if its a hybrid, and whom makes the vehicle. Keep in mind this model is based on a subcompact and the ride can be somewhat stiff with harsh road noise coming through-thus would recommend several test drives at dealerships prior to purchase. Strong believer vehicle will hold its value due to reliability and economics of ownership.

  • This Car Turns Heads - 2005 Scion XB

My XB is very responsive and is great for city driving. I am able to zip around. I am impressed with the interior design and cavernous space, especially considering it has a narrow wheel base. Nothing compares to the driving experience. You sit alomost as high as an SUV. The reactions of strangers has been the most fun. Reactions range from laughter to surprise to "What the....?" to "Thats not right". Outside of the PT Cruiser, what other vehicle elicited such reactions when it was first introduced to the market?
