Overview & Reviews
The 2006 Scion xB receives a new steering wheel with audio controls, and the Pioneer audio system has a new head unit design and remote mini-jack port for portable music sources. Additionally, the xB wagon offers dedicated Apple iPod connectivity, which delivers iPod display information and allows unit control and recharging through the audio system. In other news, the xB's horsepower rating drops from 108 to 103 due to new SAE testing procedures.
- Massive interior for its size, unusual mini-truck styling, long list of standard equipment, standard stability control, handles well for a budget-priced vehicle.

My Scion XBox - 2006 Scion XB
By Ness - December 30 - 10:40 amThe Scion xB has incredible interior design and is super easy to park anywhere because of its small size. I have had it since October and it has not gotten any dents from people slamming their doors into the car. The only bad thing about the it is that it is so close to the ground it leaves you very little clearance and most of the front part and the rear bumper are made of plastic. Overall though, I am VERY happy with the xB, it was my first new car purchase and it has been an excellent buy.

Great except for the windshields - 2006 Scion XB
By DUCricket - December 28 - 7:00 pmIve had this car for almost two years. I loved the unique design and interior room. The interior design looks a little cheap, but better than the TC. I still love the vehicle, except for the fact that I am going onto my third windshield in two years. I just replaced the windshield three months ago and the new windshield is cracked already. Theres a whole section on this site about the windshields always cracking. Great car except for the windshields. Be prepared to pay money for replacements.

Whats Up With the Windshield? - 2006 Scion XB
By wilsonevans - December 28 - 9:36 amI test drove this car and fell in love. It has so much room. As i was making a trip I heard a loud pop and there was a crack in my windshield there is no one around me to throw up a rock or anything. I took the car to my dealer after six days of ownership. They said it was a rock crack and I would be responsible for replacing it. I looked online and there are tons of people who are having mysterious cracks appear in their windshields. I cant afford to be payin for a new windshield every six days. Scion is gonna have to step up and fix this problem.

Pretty Good Car - 2006 Scion XB
By Michelle - November 23 - 6:20 amI have only had my xB for three months or so, but I love the way it handles the curves and has great maneuvering ability, and is compact for easy parking. I am averaging about 30 mpg. Im not so excited about merging into traffic though, this vehicle has absolutely no get up and go. I usually feel hesitation just after punching the accelerator. Its head room and leg room are great, but its ride is bumpy. Our Honda Element has a smoother ride. The lack of cruise control is a bummer, it should be standard. The xB has lots of great options to choose from. I would consider another one down the road if it had more power.

Exterior Design Flaw - 2006 Scion XB
By OneDriver - November 13 - 2:56 pmThe front and back end designs are poor. The front end drags on anything too high, pulls the front end bumper and grill off very easily. Then, the plastic fasteners break, leaving the front end hanging. Pushed back in, even the wind can pull it off. Dangerous. Should be a recall.

2006 Scion XB - 2006 Scion XB
By Jorge - November 12 - 4:10 amThe 2006 Scion xB is an outstanding vehicle for the money. It handles quite nicely and gets great gas mileage. I have been averaging 32 mpg. in the city and on the highway combined. I have no regrets in purchasing the vehicle and have heard countless positive comments from friends and others about the car. Many have told me that you get a lot of car of the money and since its made by Toyota, it will be a reliable car.

Old folks can drive the Box too! - 2006 Scion XB
By TAX BOX - November 12 - 1:30 amWe own 2004 Vovlo XC90 SUV as primary vehicle. Both vehicles have anti-lock brakes, roll-over control (VSC), and excellent, proven drivetrain/safety records (Toyota). Scion beats our Volvo SUV for; gas mileage (35 vs 21), comfort/room, standard features, visability, utility, and fun factor to drive. I can buy 3 of these for 1 Volvo SUV. Four older couples on a recent trip told me it reminds them of the VW bug when it first came out (a car ahead of its time). I bought this car for business travel. (Im in my 40s) My wife said she would rather drive the Scion than her $45,000 SUV. Its our family car of choice now. Thanks, Scion! Long live the Box!

Love it! - 2006 Scion XB
By the provinces - November 9 - 6:20 amNot only does this car have charming, if whimsical, looks, its also a tremendous gas saver. We traded in our Ford Explorer for it and couldnt be happier. While the initial attraction to the car was its great gas mileage and the excellent reports, we love its looks. We hear its a "toaster," but I think it looks like a little British Taxi Cab. We have the black standard 2006 with very few options (just the mats, cargo mat, IPod plug). So far (weve had it since 30 September 2005), its been dreamy. It was four-days-old and parked -- when someone first dinged it (parallel parking) and eight days old when a pebble kicked up and dinged the windshield. Were looking into a deflector.

Love It - 2006 Scion XB
By Linda - October 6 - 4:33 amThere is a whole lot of room in this car. I can fit full size adults with room to spare. I love the height and the way it handles, better than expected. My fuel economy is averaging 32 mpg city and highway for an automatic. It is easy to fold the seats down and haul items. this is the first car I havent had to take back to the dealer for "corrections." It gets a lot of looks and it is completely custumizable to each individuals taste. Kind of like my motorcycle, others may have one but no two are alike.

Maybe I AM Crazy! - 2006 Scion XB
By deb - September 27 - 1:53 amMy teenager told me if I bought this car she would NEVER drive it! When I first saw it, I laughed and said "How ugly. Show me something else!" But now we both absolutely love it. My 62" boys get in the back seat and have PLENTY of headroom AND knee room! Even with the seats all the way back. It has no power, but with teenagers, I would prefer a car without a lot of power. Hey, it gets me where I want to go. I dont feel claustrophobic. In fact, I love the seat position - not too high, not too low, forward enough so I feel in control and can see cars coming even when I am down a blind alley. I was disappointed in the mileage though. Even with my careful driving, I only get 30 mpg instead 34.
