  • Manhattan Perfect - 2005 Scion XB

Everyone whos ever driven in Manhattan knows parking is tough to get. If you see a parking spot on Tuesday, you have someone stand there and guard it until you go buy a car to put there. With this car, its always Tuesday and I have the car! As a musician, with rehearsals all over the city, Im always looking for a spot rather than pay $25 ($50 in Midtown) for 2 hours twice a day. With this car I find parking everywhere and can still haul cellos, harps, even a portative organ! NY always costs 25 cents more for gas than the national average. At 32 mpg I put in my 8-9 gal and am gone while the big SUVs are still pumping 14, 15, 16, 17, 19...

This car has been wonderful and fun to drive. It gets great gas mileage, is compact in a parking spot and especially garage. The interior is a tight squeeze with 5 adults (hip-wise), but has lots of leg room. Perfect for a 4-person family and hauling kids around. It is built well and does good on the highway.

This car was a complete surprise. It does everything better than well. From the handling to the loads, it performs better than advertised.

Overall a great car. The 05s apparently have the air conditioning problem fixed mine works really well. Had a sun roof put in love that. Some rattels but no more than other cars these days

great vehicle for small families such as myself. easily able to fit four people in and seated comfortably. hauling is a bit of a pain because of lack of space but the seats fold down and allow you ample room to put stuff there. fuel mileage is awesome, i drove from fayetteville north carolina to killeen texas fully loaded with only 4 required gas stops one chance gas stop, it was great. this vehile can also be used for the tall also it has max headroom in it.

  • True Sport Wagon - 2005 Scion XB

This the second mini for us, the first was a 1963 Austin Mini. It is the only car we found that we could get in and out of without hurting our backs. It handles like the sports wagon it is. With a cold air intake system installed it performs much better and the mileage appears to be better than advertized. A Hotchkiss stabilizer bar made cornering even better and a better sense of stability. We immediately added Alloy wheels and find them a welcome addition, the brakes and lights are exceptional. We belong to the Sr. age and find others our age realizing the benefits of the way it is designed, needless to say we are looking forward to great experiances with this our own utility sports car

This little XB box is a "Shrinky Dink" that thinks its a sports car! I go the manual because I like the control and peppy nature. It is truely the best of both worlds, fun to drive and inexpensive. Oh, and for what its worth, I am not the Gen Y target market. Im 60, going on 20, and cant wait to start adding the goodies to it. First up, cold air induction! For the older crowd this would be a GREAT second car, or commuter for work days. Flip down the rear seats, add the cargo cover, and head for the beach or golf course. Toyota got this one right in so many ways it makes me wonder why none of the other companies have nothing even close.

  • Love It!!!!! - 2005 Scion XB

The car is a ton of fun to drive. I went from a Chevy Suburban to a Ford F150 and now to a Scion. I was worried it would be too small as I am 58" and my boyfriend is 62". We TOTALLY fit comfortably. I was looking at the amount of space between his head and the roof of the car and was amazed. I love it!!!

I purchased my 05 xB in 2006 and love it. Can carry anything, even a kayak! (Bungeed the back shut about 6") I have since added a roof rack to hold both my husbands and my kayaks and still get 36-38 miles per gallon with an empty roof rack. Last year my husbands Camry was totaled and he was lucky enough to find a used "05 xB. His had 30,000 miles on it and is still like new. We live in NH and had record breaking snow last year. We did have snow tires, but could go anywhere. Never had a car this good in the snow! Both boxes are standard transmissions, very easy and fun to drive. Cant imagine driving anything else. We plan on keeping these boxes forever.
