  • Why I love my Scion xB - 2005 Scion XB
    By -

When looking for a new car with great gas mileage, I was drawn to a number of smaller, gas efficient cars. But one look at this boxy, "kitchie" that whispered to me, "take me for a test drive, honey!", and I was hooked! What a great car! Fantastic gas mileage (I get 30-33), big enough inside for a small basketball game to take place, and everything I would have asked for comes standard (I did add cruise control for longer trips at a reasonable price). I loved the fact that there was no haggling over price since the Scion price is fixed, like Saturn, and our knowledgable salesman was warm and efficient. Thank you, Scion...love that car!!

  • Im too sexy for my car... NOT - 2005 Scion XB

I love my Scion XB. I wish I had more disposible income so I could dress it up a bit, but overall, Im very proud to be seen in this car. My only complaint is that I cant get the gas mileage out of it that Im supposed to. Im about 5 mpg short both hwy and city.

Im in LOVE. The xB is the finest car Ive ever owned, AND the most economical. What can I say about the room, phenominal. Overall, an awesome driving experience.

  • Great Car for Price - 2005 Scion XB

I have had my xB for over 4 months. Its a blast to drive. Always getting comments on it. Only real thing I dont like is the windshield. I totally recommend this car for anyone that wants a car that is fun to drive and get great gas mileage. Also you would become part of an elite club as a Scion xB owner.

  • An excellent Micro-Van - 2005 Scion XB

Toyota hit the mark. If it wasnt a Toyota, I wouldnt have bought it. Interior is perfect for a starting family. My 8-month pregnant wife, my 3 year old, and myself (64") can easily go for a comfortable ride. Great commuter car. First mileage was 39 MGP. Others may be heavy on the pedal. HP is sufficient for this type of car. Ive been looking for a year for a 2nd car and once I saw this car I put my money down. Much better legroom than TDI Jetta Wagon (poor VW rep/service/quality/JD Power/pricey). Not the premium $$$ and uncertainty of a hybrid. It can carry my kayak. Not a Focus wagon (too many recalls) Im an auto engineer from Detroit.

  • Love This Car - 2005 Scion XB

Okay, Scion is meant for those under 30. I am 30. This is not just a Gen Y car, it is great for those of us who are 30+ and love a fun and reliable car. I made mine more er. . .grown up by having leather interior put in. Hey, I still have to commute and the gas mileage is phenomenal. For the price, it is well appointed and not chintzy in appearance/construction at all. Plus, its basically a Toyota which means you get top shelf reliability. For us older consumers who have families and careers to attend to and have no time to play dealership games, the no haggle pricing is a dream. Glad I traded my old boring Volvo for this Scion. I love it!

  • the great Xb experience - 2005 Scion XB

to say that a vehicle that is cheap can be functional its usually some sort of marketing scheme, but after almost 10 months and almost 17,000 miles later I can attest that the vehicle is anything but a scam. This vehicle has everything that an expensive car should (abs, traction control, keyless entry, toyoguard)and yet is sold at an affordable price, and also its fun to drive, a very comfortable vehicle for long or short trips and the fact that people look at this car (is a hate or love it desing) I have had a lot of positive reactions to the car, so I recomend you go to your nearest toyota dealership and like myself start your own great Xb experience.

  • Great Value and Fun to Drive! - 2005 Scion XB

Picked up my xB three weeks ago, and dont remember last time I enjoyed driving a new car so much! Friends and family are amazed at the quality and the look of the car for the price. They cant believe all the features (safety and otherwise) you can get for under $17,000. Test drive both the auto and the manual versions: they really drive differently. I chose the 5spd stick, as it increases the "fun-to-drive" factor by a lot! There are virtually no blind spots in the rear views, and the forward visibility and seat position cant be beat. I am more at eye level with SUVs and trucks than with my 2001 Volvo S60 which I said farewell to when I got the xB!

  • Gas Mileage Poor - 2005 Scion XB
    By -

I like the cool factor of the car yet am very disappointed with the in city gas mileage. I have gotten as low as 20 mpg. I dont know if there is something wrong with it or not. I sacrificed a lot of handling and performance to get the promised great mileage. I used to drive a 94 Mazda Miata and got about 22 mpg on average and had a blast driving it. I am planning on taking a huge hicky on the purchase of this car because I will get out of it ASAP and get the 2006 Miata.

  • Couldnt be Happier - 2005 Scion XB
    By -

I purchased my xB because my Pontiac Grand AM was getting unreliable and constantly breaking down. I have owned the xB for over a year now and I must say that this is a great car. From the outside you would never guess it is so roomy inside. I was able to fit an entire dorm rooms worth of stuff in it! The gas mileage is amazing. I dont drive slow and I still manage 31 mpg. The fact that it comes standard with ABS, traction control and stability control make this car very easy to drive in the snow. The only downside to owning this car is the fact that bugs do not skip off of the very vertical windshield. They kinda self destruct upon contact and the windshield can get nasty fast.
