  • A Tall Persons Car - 2005 Scion XB

Im 6-7. This is the first socially responsible car Ive driven in which I can sit up straight. Its like sitting in a chair while driving, which makes all the little annoyances melt away. The car is fun to drive and has a good, basic sound system. Yes, I could have spent twice as much on a big ol SUV and challenged the road, but thats not what driving should be able. This is a fun car that gets noticed and does a lot of things right.

  • Did my own crash test, unfortunately. - 2005 Scion XB

I was hit in the drivers side rear door of my Scion xB, spun around three times, jumped the curb, and stopped when I hit a tree. I got out without a scratch. These take the impact for you, and apparently dont roll over like I thought they might. All of the cars glass was still intact. Id let my niece drive it and not worry now...well, that is when they put it back together. I love this little thing. Also, I have had about 1,000 lbs. in the back and it drives like its empty. We own two of xBs and the 2004 model seems faster than the 2005. We have exactly the same features on both. This car is a great buy and a safe ride.

  • Excellent car - 2005 Scion XB

This is a great little car. You only need to step inside to see why its such a good deal for $15k - its huge inside. Being a box makes it very space efficient; awkwardly tall friends will appreciate the rear leg and head room. However, the car is still narrow and short enough that its easy to park anywhere, and the sitting position is surprisingly high. Handling and road noise are decent considering its a box with wheels, and the standard traction and stability control do wonderfully in bad weather. A bigger engine would be nice at times, but it usually feels plenty peppy and gets great gas milage. Toyota quality for this price makes this car hard to resist.

  • Scion xB Long Term - 2005 Scion XB

My car has been problem free for 53,000 miles. It gets an honest 33 MPG in mixed driving. Its a great run-about vehicle. Its engine and auto transmission are a great combination - good drivability and nice compromise between performance and gas mileage. It handles well and is not as bad in side winds as the body style might suggest. The ride is a bit stiff and a little bouncy, especially when new. This improves after several thousand miles, however they should really soften up the suspension just a little, especially in the rear. The traction control and electronic stability control (standard equipment) result in a secure feeling drive, even in moderate snow. Buy the Konig Helium wheels - their light weight improves acceleration.

This is a great mini SUV for urban driving. The close ratio 5 speed manual transmission is smooth and the brakes are incredible. It has enormous amounts of room inside and gets great gas mileage - 31 mpg combined in my experience. The car handles like a sports car and is dependable and inexpensive.

  • Wonderful commuter - 2005 Scion XB
    By -

I needed a new commuter car. I drive 90 miles roundtrip each day to/from work and wanted something that got good mileage and had space. This is the only car that met my needs and I love it. Wish it had just a little more power, but its tolerable as I wasnt looking for a speed demon of a ride. The dealership was awesome too. If youre buying in the Detroit, Michigan area, you have to go see Hugh and Marcelino at Suburban Scion.

This is an all-around fabulous vehicle, and the compliments just keep coming. Comfortable, cozy, and the size just makes me feel like royalty. All Toyota needs to do is turn this into a hybrid and ill be an XB owner for life.

  • Love it! - 2005 Scion XB

I adore my XB- I have now taken it on a long trip as well as done a good amount of around the town driving in it and have decided that I could not have chosen a better car for me. Very roomy and comfortable- fun to drive. No cruise doesnt bother me but might be annoying for frequent long trips or commuters. I am over all extremely happy and would make the purchase all over again.

If you dont watch your speed, it can really go faster than what it feels. I have taken it on a couple of long trips and is very comfortable, whether in the front or back seat. I love my car. It should have cruise control. My husband and I have recomended it very highly to other people. We have even let them test drive ours or sit in it, to show them how much room it has.

  • Fantastic little gem - 2005 Scion XB

I cannot believe I found a used XB. We had looked for the last several years at the local car shows and fell in love with the XB. We were ready to buy a new one this year. We did not like the new design because it has really cut the gas mileage with the improvements. These cars never show up used here. No one wants to part with them. We got a great deal on a 2005 with only 40,000 plus on it. It is silver with a cute red thunder bolt along the sides & air scoop on the back. We love the room the handling and the gas mileage. We had cruise added it really enhances the over the road mileage. We are nearing 60 and enjoy the nice firm seats. Great for us and so much fun to drive.
