  • Why buy anything else (at this price)? - 2005 Scion XB

I love it. Got it for my wife. We live in a major city, and I manage an exotic car dealership, where I get to drive virutally everything. This was what she wanted. I didnt really like the idea of the Scion xB, but she got it. I drive a 2006 BMW M5 everyday, and since weve had it (about 90 days), the BMW has been parked in favor of this incredible little car (truck, suv, whatever). Great fuel economy, fun to drive, very refined, excellent storage space, excellent visibility, easy to park, cheap to insure, what more could you want out of a car? As a self-professed auto expert, you cannot get more for your money than in a Scion xB.

Bought my xB in late December 2004. Needed a vehicle that I could carry my disabled Sweetheart and be able to get her in and out without trouble. Told the salesguy if I could get the wheelchair in the luggage area, I would buy it and buy it we did. Has just over 23000 miles and couldnt ask for a better vehicle. Lots of power and energy, great mileage, and enough room for my 68" 300 lb son to drive with comfort. Installed luggage rack and aluminum alloy wheels from internet. Never used a drop of oil and no maintenance problems whatsoever. Best car I ever owned, and Ive always driven sports/small cars (Triumph Spitfire, Opel Mimi-Corvette, Suzuki Samurai) and this one is the best.

I get between 400 and 410 miles on a tank of gas which, I believe, works out to about 33.5 miles per gallon, so Im very happy. Believe it or not my xB carries more than my old SUV ever could. Im still amazed. The boxiness is definitely an asset. Ive read others say the xB has no passing power. My experience is definitely the contrary. I take the NJ Turnpike twice a day, six days a week, and I have no problems passing other vehicles with ease. Im not sure, but perhaps its because I have the manual transmission. Also, I prefer the xB to the Honda Element, which is similar, because the XB doesnt have the Elements A-pillar blind spots. Oh yeah...Great sounding radio!!

My XB is fun to drive. Has lots of room for my big body. It gets very good mileage and the best part is that it is Orange. The only let down is it doesnt handle good in high cross winds.

  • Square Peg....Round Garage - 2005 Scion XB

Wow what a car. I barely talked my significant other out of an xA but now everybody is glad I did. This car offers more interior comfort and space than most mid-size SUVs in the front AND rear. Great economy. Coolest looks on the road. Nimble and efficient. Go with the Sirius Satellite Radio. Last but not least...Toyota Quality.

  • Slick Compromise - 2005 Scion XB

The Scion xB is quirky. Its small enough to walk around in the garage and to squeeze into parking spaces only a Mini Cooper would look at twice, but big enough to cross your legs, with your hands crossed behind your head...in the back seat. Its fun enough to drive that it surprises, often all the way into a smile. It drinks less gas than most vehicles and makes you feel slightly less guilty about the planet you ride upon. Toyota didnt have to reinvent the wheel for the cB, just smoosh together the best traits of the city car: affordability, a reasonably well-appointed interior, roominess, safety, and it is charming. This car strikes so many sensible compromises that I am glad to see it loved by ravers and retirees.

  • Value Value value! - 2005 Scion XB

Yes I did say value three times. I have had my 2005 Scion XB for about a month now and I couldnt be any happier. I looked into the Honda Civic and I said to myself why do I have to have the same car everyone else is driving. My xb also came with every power option available and cost much less than a Civic EX. You also dont have to wonder witch civic is yours in the parking lot of the local supermarket. My Scion Xb has been a pleasure to drive and own. If you want and incredible value and the awsome reputation of Toyota look into the Scion Xb.

  • love this little box - 2005 Scion XB
    By -

i love, love, love this little box of mine. the only bummer for me is the fact that there are no plans for toyota to design a hitch or a way to add a hitch for this little thing so i can take a couple of bicycles along with me. i dont want a roof rack for the bikes (the car is just too tall for that).
