Target audience....young, hip, skinny, and poor! Yet this is the best automobile for Big and Tall people and it gets great mileage. I love this car and bought a 2006 model for myself and gave the 2005 to my son! Dont look elsewhere!

I bought my XB about one month ago. It is great! This is a different car and you can tell by the look and stares you get. The design is sometimes compared to that of a Honda Element but it is completely different. It rides soft, great small little engine, great gas mileage and overall very comfortable.

The xB is bigger on the inside than on the outside! Loading groceries (and everything else) is easy and fast and theres always room for more. Pick up and power is exceptional for its 1.5 ltr engine - better than most 6 cyl. autos. The headroom is fantastic ... my husband is a big guy, 300 lbs., and he can sit anywhere in the Scion with his cowboy hat on and not worry about knocking his hat off! And we turn heads everywhere we go. The only problem is for the other drivers on the road ... they think that a little car must be passed and because they do theyre going to get a ticket cause I drive fast!

  • Fun, Fun, fun - 2005 Scion XB

Got the box less than a month ago. Traded the Cadillac for this fun economical vehicle. Gas mileage is great, comfort is surprisingly good. The body style is love or hate-I love it. Took it in the curves and it did remarkably well and had the power ratio to climb the hills. Put on the low profile tires and wheels which made a huge difference in its look. The people at Maita were very accomodating. Had the lights put in under the dash which makes one feel young when driving. I like it more everytime I drive it. I would recommend the car to any age group, not just the young. The more goodies you put on to make it unique-the better.

Well in 2006 I decided I was going to break down and buy a small cheap commuter again. Having lived in Japan I remembered small mini trucks and vans people use to modify and drive around town in fact the scion design is a copy of Toyota older Japanese model not available in the usa. So I bought one used and absolutely love it even though a lot of things were changed for the American market it still has the BASIC car coolness to it looks good drives good and reliability and the gas mileage at average 35 mpg no bad. As far as performance I dont think your gonna go to the racetrack anytime soon, at least in a factory version, and the ride for someone who lives in an area like NYC is a bit bumpy...

This is my 2nd review of my Scion the 1st was on 1/22/2005 Ive now had my Xb for 8 months and am very happy so far the only complaints I have are minor 1. the A/C could blow colder or blow faster 2. power on some of the Ozarks was only O.K. The transmission could downshift sooner instead of slowing down to 40 mph. These are minor on the interstate it was fine as it is around town. Gas mileage is around 27 town / 32 highway, which is good enough for me. For the folks wanting more power Toyota should offer a supercharger option and for the ones who want better mileage Toyota should make a diesel.

I purchased my Xb about 8 months ago. I was suprised how well it did on muddy roads, and icy streets. While it doesnt have the control of a 4 wheel SUV for a Front wheel drive vehicle Id say its far above average. Exteremly roomy interior. I can sit in front with my seat all the way back and my 67" friend can sit behind me comfortably without even knocking his knees! Not the most powerful car on the road but it has better pick up than many other wagons. Exteremly fuel efficient. Im avid road tripper and its always gotten me where Im going without issue. Reliable start up even in winter. Great car overall especially for price. I highly recommend some of the extras! Like LED lights!

When i first saw this vehicle, which was inside the mall, i really didnt like it. One of my friends bought one, so i rode in it around the block...ever since that, i have loved them. They are very unique cars love the "box-look". I got the Thunder Cloud Metallic one. This car is not for everyone, but it is for me.

  • Loving our Square Car! - 2005 Scion XB

We have had our xb 5speed for a little over two months now and love it. Coming from VR6 VW i was a little concerned at first about only having 108 hp, but with its VVti engine and light weight it really does feel quick around town and has no trouble doing 75-80mph on the highway. We have been averaging about 31/32 mpg overall in mixed city/highway driving. The room in the back seat is truly amazing and with the seats folded down it can hold huge amounts of cargo. I cant wait to try out the traction control in some snow! Anyone looking for reliable, efficent and totally unique transportation thats a blast to drive should really take a look.
