  • 250,000 miles and still going. - 2005 Scion XB

I bought my 05 xb used toward the end of 05 with 23,000 miles on it. Mine is the bright yellow release series. Since i`ve owned it i have driven the crap out of it! Taken it to Las Vegas countless number of times and on several oyher road trips since 05 and it has never let me down. Car averages around 31 mpg hwy so long as i put super in it. Have done a few aftermarket upgrades to it and by far the best one was the Magnaflow exhaust system.Woke the little box up like you would not beleive! As far as reliability...awesome! still on the original clutch. Change oil regularly. gonna try and see if it`ll go 500,000 with no major work.

Ive had nothing but fun with my xB. Only problems have been a vibration of the speedometer pod in the dash, and pieces of the front grille fell off initially because clips were not installed correctly. Im getting 33- 36 mpg. Love the sound system.

The Scion Xb is a joy to drive. It has a mileage return almost as good as a hybrid. The quality and fit are second to none. The standard features on another vehicle would add thousands to the price. On trips I often drive (once a week) eighty miles one way. The performance is supurb. I would reccomend this vehicle to anyone of any age desiring transportation with a flair and a very comfortable package as well.

  • A good box at a good price - 2005 Scion XB

The xB is an excellent commuter vehicle for anyone who needs to drive a long distance each day. It is well designed, fun to drive, and relatively comfortable. The price point is excellent for toyota quality. Bear in mind that this is a very basic vehicle, and it will not beat anyone off the line. However, it is fun to drive, and comes with some excellent standard features like ABS and keyless entry, to name a few. Everyone has reacted positively to the unique design, once they see it up close, they really like it. I love this car!!, highly recommended for the daily commuter, no matter how old or young you are.

My wife bought a used 2005 xB and we liked it so much that I bought an identical (except color) one for myself. We are both older and drive accordingly, so we get about 33MPG in city and 37+ on Hwy. Both xBs have about 50k miles on them and we love them. The 1500cc engines pay off. We would not buy the newer, larger xBs because of their economy and looks. A big mistake on Toyotas part, we think. A typical comment: "this back seat is like a Lincoln Town Car". We will definitely keep these cars and repair them for as long as possible. This may be the car for you, too?

We bought our Scion xB last spring and it has been great. It replaced our family van, and the gas bills have never been lower. The only thing we miss is the cargo room for the extras that children come with. But with the roof rack this year we hope to have a smother vacation packing experience.

  • The xB is the future and it is now! - 2005 Scion XB

I believe that the Scion xB is everything one could want in a car for todays world. My black cherry xB is gorgeous and it reflects me. I have added foglights, a cargo net, center armrest, cruise control, alloy wheels and a power sunroof. I average 34 MPG and love the comfort and versatile interior. People do take notice of the xB - people do ask "what is it?" and people just love to look at it. The xB is fun to drive, fun to talk about and I smile at the mileage. What is not to like? I believe that my car offers all that we need in our world of high cost fuel and crowded roads. I think that I have the right car at the right time - it is just wonderful!

Not everyone will like the Scion xBs unorthodox design as much as I do, but it sure provokes a lot of "stares" from folks who see me. The Honda Element pales in comparison.

The car is so spacious, you could fit 5 NBA players in it (4 comfortably). It has so much leg room. We made a 2000 mile trip to North Carolina in it and only filled the tank 5 times altogether (even driving up and down the mountains). The car is super dependable, great ride, the only dangerous thing about it is the other people looking at the car they start to come in to your lane.

  • Welcome to the 21st Century Alltrack - 2005 Scion XB
    By -

Remember that boxy 1980s Toyota All Track Wagon? Well this is the 21st Century version for sure! Practical, roomy, unassuming, and destined to go 200K miles in snow country, but unlike the All Track the xB has great comfort, handling, more zip, and a respectable low volume base "feel" setting on the Pioneer factory radio/cd. The traction and stability control worked well in the rain and beats the cost of 4x4 for occasional ice days. Best of all, it is getting 33-34 MPG in 80% highway use. The xB has a stiff ride like a typical euro sports mini but handling is good. Got a good discount on options and cut $1,200 a year off my petrol bill. A keeper 4 sure.
