This Year's Model Updates:

Borrowing components from GM's European Opel division, the Saturn Vue is completely redesigned for 2008. Highlights include a much-improved cabin, an available 257-horsepower V6 and improved handling and ride dynamics.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 in XR and Red Line trims, handsome interior and exterior European styling, ideal handling and ride balance, plenty of standard safety features.
Cons:
  • Less cargo capacity than most rivals, front seats not ideal for some larger folks.

  • ETC problems - 2008 Saturn VUE
    By -

I bought this car new in 2008 and the service I received from saturn was great, but now they are no longer here. I have a problem with the ETC light coming on and my brakes lock. I thought this would be under the warranty . But the GM dealer wants $$$$ to check the problem first and then I know Ill be seeing a bigger bill for the repairs and on top of that I have three items on recall which I never received any notice.

  • Love this SUV! - 2008 Saturn VUE

I have had quite a few different vehicles over the years. I traded in a 2009 Malibu, loved the car but have knee trouble and could not climb out of it anymore as it was too low to the ground. Looked at all the small SUVs and nothing compared to the Vue. Gas mileage is adequate compared to the wifes 2009 Dodge Journey R/T. She actually likes driving the view more than her car as she says it looks like a Lexus. 47,000 miles on it and still drives like a dream. I would by another if they were still making them.

  • Excellent Overall Package - 2008 Saturn VUE

My wife and I just bought our first Saturn. Very pleased with the buying experience, which is another first for me. The Vue is an excellent choice for a family of 4 that needs a vehicle with extra cargo room or light towing capability(we will tow our 2 jet- skis), but still want some sporting character. I love the VVT V6 with 6spd automatic! Tapshift feature makes it more fun/engaging to drive and give an extra measure of control over the driving character. The Red Line has minimal body roll, very good handling for an SUV, solid brake pedal feel, good steering feel, and an awesome interior. Seats are supportive and comfortable. There are many thoughtfull touches/features in the interior

  • The good, bad and the ugly! - 2008 Saturn VUE

I bought my 2008 Vue 14 months ago with 33,000. I loved the comfort ride and all the bells and whistles, with the heated leather seats and nice interior design. Other than having to change the battery, with under 50,000, I had no problems or issues. Until last week while I was driving home and the RPMs started reving up and going back down and then the transmission felt like it wasnt engaged and I was stranded alongside the road side waiting for a tow truck. Verdict...transmission needs to be pulled to determine the extent of the problems. Now I have a rental with no promise of when my vehicle will be up and running again. Thank God it is covered under the 100,000 power train warranty!

  • Im glad I dont drive much - 2008 Saturn VUE
    By -

I bought the VUE because I use public transportation and mainly needed an errand/recreational vehicle--so, mpg wasnt that important to me. Since Im averaging 18 mpg city driving, Im really glad I dont need it as my commuting car. That said, the car is nicest thing Ive driven and rides like a dream. I have the leather interior package and the heated seats, lumbar support, and climate control is just fantastic. My back windshield fluid sprayer doesnt work, but thats a factory problem and the dealership will fix it.

  • I Love my Vue - 2008 Saturn VUE

I’m very much enjoying my new 2008 Redline Vue! I traded a 2004 ford Cobra so this was quite a difference, but I couldn’t be happier! My mileage was better in the Cobra but the fit and finish and options more than make up for that. I’ve been in much more expensive SUV’s and I’ve got to tell, ya, you’d be hard pressed to find a better interior and fit and finish anywhere close the this price. The NAV system works flawless and the way it handles MP3’s burnt to a disk is second to none too. If Saturn continues to offer this level of vehicle and price, I’ll be driving another new Saturn in three years.

  • Ride quality is exceptional - owned 1 yr - 2008 Saturn VUE
    By -

The 2008 redesigned Vue has an exceptional ride quality. The comfort of the interior is much higher than several leading competitors we considered. The V6 XR is recommended over the V4 because of the vehicles weight. The 3.6 V6 is refined and smooth. Gas mileage could be better - but a steel unibody and a wealth of standard safety features are worth some trade off. A great vehicle, despite a couple irksome fit and finish repairs that were fully covered under warranty. Perhaps the best product thats come out under the Saturn label. Its amazing that a previous reviewer is trading down to a clunky Nitro rattle-box from this refined small suv.

  • 5 Saturns & the best is the new Vue - 2008 Saturn VUE
    By -

Since 1996, I have owned 3 S series, an L300 and the 2008 Vue. I have experienced the Saturn evolution firsthand and, overall, am very satisfied with the brand. The new Vue is my first SUV and, so far, I have nothing but praise for the experience. I have been driving it for a week and the ride is very comfortable and the styling, both interior and exterior, is the finest Saturn has offered. I bought the 4 cylinder model for economy and drive 60 on the freeway and have averaged 22- 27 combo. Coupling this engine with a 6-speed transmission would improve the driving performance, though. The increased storage and bigger/better glove box are definite pluses.

  • First SUV, second Saturn - 2008 Saturn VUE

I narrowed my choices to the 2008 Vue and Rav4 months before they hit the lots, test-driving them both the same day. Id also narrowed my choices between Toyota & Saturn 10 yrs earlier when I bought a Saturn SC2, and for pretty much the same reasons the Vue was an easy choice. Saturn makes good-looking vehicles w/superior color choices, that come well-equipped with lots of luxuries that make them especially fun to drive. I was impressed with its nimble handling, tight steering and solid stability at cornering. The 4000-pound 6cyl can haul 3500 lbs. Between OnStar and standard alarm, its safer from theft. I upgraded to the premium package, and now own one stellar car.

  • Great buy - 2008 Saturn VUE
    By -

Picked up our 2008 Saturn VUE XR AWD last week and are loving it! Great ride, toys, size, comfort, quiet ride. Engine pick up is quick but for this the gas mileage suffers a bit but its hard to find it all in one vehicle- power, economy and versatility. I would suggest the $595 convenience package as it provides a couple of nice additions- rain sensing wipers, heated washer nozzels and remote start system. I would have liked a back-up sensor or camera available like is offered in the Outlook. Overall very satisfied so far.
