Pros:
  • Powerful V6 in XR and Red Line trims, handsome interior and exterior European styling, ideal handling and ride balance, plenty of standard safety features.
Cons:
  • Less cargo capacity than most rivals, front seats not ideal for some larger folks.

  • time will tell - 2008 Saturn VUE

Our 2008 Vue has the 3.5L motor, most have 3.6L or 2.4L, anyways it has lots of power and excellent braking and handling. It was a pleasure to drive last winter. We have experienced a few problems so far but nothing major. The seats stain very easily (even water left a mark),glove box light stays on when closed unless you slam it shut. Like I said nothing major. Only has 23k on it in a year and a half so time will tell if it holds up. The zero percent financing was the deal sealer.

  • Worth the price - 2008 Saturn VUE

Waited 3 months to write review. So far I like the VUE a lot. Only problem is heated washer fluid doesnt work. Lots of features more expensive suvs have. Read the manual - found out "wow" stuff. Ride is nice. Seats are way too short though - Im tall. And lack support - feel like I get tossed around in turns. Cant get as much in back as my last wagon. Bikes and recycle cans dont fit. Old wagon they did as did a washing machine and snow blower. Dont care about XM or OnStar - wont renew. Wish trailer hitch was 2" not 1 1/4" - had to buy adapter for bike rack - not it sticks out. But overall its a great small suv for the price. I hope it holds up over time. Had more but limited space here.

  • My Vue View - 2008 Saturn VUE

Have only driven for 500 miles but realize the 4 speed auto isnt great. It seems to bog down when traveling between 45-55 mph, where I spend most of my time driving around town. So I have to always decide whether to live with it or use the manual feature (which is fun but defeats the purpose of an auto). I think a 5 or 6 speed with the 4 cylinder would be better. Also cant figure out why they put a 12V outlet in the rear but only have one up front...and its in the console?! Even my 97 Explorer had two up front and in the front dash. Need at least one in the dash (radar detector) and keep one in console for cell phone. Otherwise love the look, drive, ride, and fit and finish.

  • Beautiful piece of machinery - 2008 Saturn VUE

A very nice and responsive car with 6 speed auto and 3.6 L smooth GM engine. Styling is good and turns peoples heads for sure. Two disadvantages though -- rough ride and engine noise starting from 2.5-3,000 RPM.

  • So Disappointed! - 2008 Saturn VUE

This is the first Saturn I have owned. Initially I loved it, great body style, fun to drive, great interior design, and many comfort features. However, I have had my Vue back to the shop 4 times in 6 months. I bought it new and initially they had to fix a dent, a scratch, and replace the inside drivers door secondary to damage. They convinced me to buy the carbright warranty but within a week the leather front seats and arm rests were stained and had to be replaced. I went for the first oil change and they found a cracked washer fluid resevoir that then was replaced. Now the seats are stained again and they will not fix it!

  • Impressive - 2008 Saturn VUE

I was not planning on purchasing a Vue. After seeing the quality and test driving it, I was very impressed. I didnt care for the gas mileage, but figured it was a trade off for the AWD and power for Maine driving. I opted out of the original Vue with the 4- cylinder engine. Please take the lack of power into consideration when making your final decision. But, true to their word, Saturn took my 4-cyl. back and put me in to a 6 cyl AWD. What a difference in vehicles. Overall, the Vue has been a pleasant vehicle for me to drive. I use this vehicle for business and drive it every day. When you drive past an older Vue, youll be proud of how far along theyve come.

  • Excellent Value, Nice Utility, Fun - 2008 Saturn VUE

This auto has some great features for the price and is fun to own and drive. We had to select between a CRV and this vehicle and the value proposition made the final decision easy. The two cars were actually very similar, but the Saturn Vue XE had more features for the money. We also looked at the HHR, but this Vue had a larger-car feel from the inside. While the car is a German design, and built in Mexico it actually had a good US part content. This was our first American brand vehicle since about 1994. The ownership experience is making me think I will trade my Acura MDX in the future for another American branded car.

  • German Engineered, Mexican made - 2008 Saturn VUE

I am very happy with my Vue Redline with a few exceptions. The good: Handles as well as, if not better than compareable, and more expensive, German crossovers. I have driven the X3 and the Vue handles as well. Its obvious when you drive the Redline that the vehicle was engineered in Germany. Even though it has a relatively small cargo area. However, Saturn designed an ingenious sliding cargo net that increases the flexibility of the cargo hold threefold. I was able to pack the family of 5 with $500 worth of Sams Club groceries inside. The bad: Mexican assembly is also apparent. 1 recall and two minor trips to the dealer are frustrating. But overall good vehicle

  • I need my space - 2008 Saturn VUE

I previously had an 06 Vue but had problems, enough to trade in on new. the 08 drives great, handles curves, is sporty enough. The storage compared to the 06 stinks, there are lots of storage places but theyre not big enough to hold neccesities, like sunglasses for example. I stay on the road and carry books, binders, and other school items, no room for any of it now. Gas mileage was better in the 06 too. I didnt ever get below 20 mpg, now I dont even see 17.

  • First SUV - 2008 Saturn VUE

This is my first SUV. I traded my Honda Civic in last year. I love this vehicle. I have a few complaints but this vehicle made me an SUV lover. I agree seats stain easily and are not very comfortable.
