This Year's Model Updates:

Revised interior and exterior trim details freshen up the interior of Saturn's SUV. Four-cylinder models get new machined alloy wheels in place of last year's painted alloys, along with new seat fabric, and a four-speed automatic transmission in place of the former CVT unit. All-wheel drive is no longer available on four-cylinder Vues.

Pros:
  • Strong V6, spacious cabin, comfortable ride, excellent crash test scores, good fuel economy.
Cons:
  • Too many low-grade and ill-fitting interior materials, undersized front seats, vague steering.

  • A reliable SUV - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

I bought an 05 Saturn four years ago w 100k miles. It now has over 175k. The car isnt perfect. The interior is cheap, the front buckets are not well designed. It is, on uphill climbs, underpowered. Its also a bit noisy on the highway, but actually not more so than say, a Volvo xc90 (I drove one the other day, actually the Volvo is noisier). Parts are ridiculously cheap. It shares a platform with every other gm brand. many parts like the brakes are common to a half dozen models. The four cylinder is known is the iron duke and is regarded as one of the most reliable engines gm has ever made. ( though, the suspension is mediocre). Bottom line-very low cost of ownership.

  • Tire size causes some problems - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

The only problem Ive had with the VUE is replacement tires! The tires that came with the VUE dont perform well in wet weather and if it snows they are terrible, and I have all wheel drive. If you are putting 17 inch wheels on a vehicle at least have a selection of tires to buy. The Bridgestones that came with the vechicle are not a good fit!

Although an amazing ride, the steering is somewhat rough at times. Fuel economy is among the best I have seen. It is indeed an extremely comfortable ride for a car in its class. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone interested in purchasing a safe, fuel efficient SUV.

  • Saturn VUE: Low price, great value - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

I paid just $16,700 for my VUE. And for that very low price I got a reliable, fun to drive, comfortable and safe small SUV with plenty of extras. Like included electric sunroof, power windows and locks, keyless entry, cruise, tach, temp guage, AC, rear defrost, power mirrors, compass and outside temp, premium sound with CD and MP3, full fold-down seats, rear wiper and washer, 17" alloys wheels with BR Goodrich tires, no rust and no dent side panels and lots more I cant even remember. I get 30 mpg or more on the highway! You cant beat the combination in this car. If you want cheap, stylish, fun, good and safe look at a VUE.

I finally have a vehicle that I feel safe in.Not worried about people banging into my doors. Steel cage around me,steel bars in doors. First-time owner of an SUV and feel confident driving in the rain and hitting bumps, looking forward to driving in the Snow

  • Red Line Vue - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

I have really enjoyed this vehicle @10500 miles. My last vehicle was a 2001 Toyota Highlander LTD AWD so I can compare easily to this Toyotas quality. 1) Fun to drive = Vue; horsepower makes all the difference. Also the VUE suspension is much more tuned to the city/highway driving we all do with very little additional harshness. The Vue carves thru corners. If you go off- road and climb boulders look elsewhere. 2)Interior style and execution. The style/design of the VUE interior is on par with the HLs layout, but the Vues hard plastic interior does not have the tactile feel of the Hls fake leather surfaces. 3) Build quality - surprising the VUE is almost as quiet as the HL.

  • Unbelievable car - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

I purchased my first Saturn, a VUE, and my wife and are extremely happy with the car. I am very impressed with the smooth acceleration and shifting tranny. I know the engine is a Honda, but I was curious about the transmission as we tow it behind our RV. I spoke with a Saturn technician and he gave me great detail about the tranny being a oil bath system built by Honda as well. In fact it apprears the front drive train including the axle is all Honda. GM definitely did the right thing here. I would give the car a 10 but the only negitive is the steering when accelerating in a short turn. It sometime acts a little loose feeling. But on a whole we love this car.

  • Love my VUE - 2005 Saturn VUE

Looked at this car 2 years ago and didnt think power was good but wow the 05 has all the power you need and then some. Just had 6000 mile checkup and like the car more now than I did when it was brand new.

  • My Wonderful Mini-Suv! - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

Just recently a new member to the Saturn family-I heard alot of good things - but never tried it myself. Thank God I did! I love this vehicle! A wonderful ride and beautiful looks! I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who wants a smaller SUV with style. This is truly the best vehicle Ive ever owned! Tip-Its worth it to get the extras (leather seats, sun roof, etc)!

  • Nice Car! - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

This was bought in January as a replacement for a 98 Maxima, which had been smashed. It is for my 53" wife, who wanted something to load the kids into but not a minivan or SUV. After driving the Murano, Equinox, CRV, Escape and Highlander, we settled on this car. The VUE has a nice set of options and is very fun to drive. Nice power in the V6 and very quiet. I even fit for the most part, though Id prefer a truck. (Im 64".) Stereo sounds nice and it has handled very wel.
