This Year's Model Updates:

Revised interior and exterior trim details freshen up the interior of Saturn's SUV. Four-cylinder models get new machined alloy wheels in place of last year's painted alloys, along with new seat fabric, and a four-speed automatic transmission in place of the former CVT unit. All-wheel drive is no longer available on four-cylinder Vues.

Pros:
  • Strong V6, spacious cabin, comfortable ride, excellent crash test scores, good fuel economy.
Cons:
  • Too many low-grade and ill-fitting interior materials, undersized front seats, vague steering.

  • Love my VUE - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

This is the first Saturn I have owned and I love my VUE. I was attracted to the VUEs exterior design and when I discovered it came with a Honda V-6 engine, I was completely hooked. The roomy interior is a real plus too--high ceilings and plenty of room between the front and back seats. The gas mileage isnt outstanding, but its better than most suvs. And, I know I could get more out of each gallon if I didnt take advantage of its get-up-and-go capability so frequently. If your a Mom who needs room for the kids but still wants to feel sporty and drive in the fast lane, the VUEs for you.

  • It never let me down! - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

I purchased my 2005 Saturn new in July 2005. I loved it until the day it died this past October in a car accident. I loved this car. I average 25K a year on my vehicle, so it had 125000 miles on it. I changed to synthetic oil around 95K and increased my mpg to 30 on highway, 26 or so in city. I loved this car. It always started, drove well, loved the convenience of the trunk/back seats that lie down flat. Went through two sets of tires and had rotors turned at 110K. I never had it in the shop for repairs other than maintenance issues. I loved this car. My only complaint was the road noise/ weather stripping was bad. It allowed dust to come in and it was a bit noisy.

  • 2005 Red Line VUE - 2005 Saturn VUE

We bought the VUE in January and have had no problems. This is the Red Line, so it is loaded. We have 18 inch wheels on it, and 6 speaker sound. Power moonroof. The six cylinder engine is supplied by Honda, along with the drive train. For the size of the car and 250 horses, it gets up and moves! Saturn customer service has been excellent since the purchase. We can call them with any questions regarding the car, and they are actually there to give real time answers. Bottom line, we are happy campers!

  • Great and Fun SUV!!!!!! - 2005 Saturn VUE

Great SUV! Very fun to drive and very well priced. Well-built, and will last a long, long time. The "quality" is in the SUV! As you look at Honda & Toyota, keep this one in mind!

  • Feels safe, fun to drive, and economical - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

We have the 3.5 L fwd Vue. Have enjoyed the safe feeling of riding in an SUV. It is not large, so that it does not stand out as a monster SUV. It is a sensible SUV for safe and economical driving. My wife loves to drive it. The interior was a little on the bland side, so we bought an optional interior "spruce-up" accessory, that put some chrome-like plastic to the center counsel and to the interior door handles. Now it looks better on the inside. I do not recommend buying the paint protection package cause it really did not look any better after it was applied. Perhaps it really protects the paint, but does not add any better appearance to the exterior paint finish. We enjoy driving it.

  • The SUV That can....... - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

I have put 6k on this suv now and it handles very well (I traded my 2001 Z3 BMW for this SUV so I know vehicles that handle). Yeah, the interior is on the cheap side, but it seems to be strong with no rattles. I drove this through some serious storms in NY (ice and snow) and was so impressed. I slid less than my buddys 04 Dodge Hemi 4x4. The leather heated seats are nice and seem to be a good size.

  • My fun SUV, How does yours feel to you? - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

We enjoy our Vue very much. This is our third Saturn. Our first lasted for 215,000 then we traded it was still running strong with no problems. Hurricane Ivan demolished our second Saturn and we bought our Vue to replace it. We just needed more space and wanted an SUV and we setteled on a Vue after test driving all the major motor vehicle manufacturers. The Vue won hands down!

  • Wow! A Saturn! - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

I love my VUE. it has superior acceleration, handles smoothly, and looks great. The transmission is so smooth that you cannot feel it shift. I was leary at first about all that plastic, but no more. The only negative is the cheesy plastic interior fixtures. Cmon, guys, for $24000, you can do better.

  • 1st time Saturn buyer - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

I was really concerned when buying the VUE because of what I had heard from Edmunds and primarily Consumer Reports on the "lack of reliability". I have been completely satisfied! When you look deeper into the analysis (especially CR) they dont say anything that is specifically unreliable. We have had excellent results and it is a quality ride.

  • A Great Idea - 2005 Saturn VUE
    By -

I purchased my 2005 Saturn Vue V6 FWD after owning a Volvo 240 for 10 years. I chose the car for its interior room, practical design and compact size. I bought it with 109k miles on it and love it. Its a great passenger vehicle with solid metal buckles in the back for car seats, which are very useful. The cargo space is great and despite its looks on the outside, there is plenty of people room on the inside! The V6 will pick up and go when you need it to and ride smoothly on the highway. The suspension can be a little rigid but is tight and has given me no trouble. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone who needs a car with cargo room, fuel economy and enjoys a simply designed car.
