Overview & Reviews
Borrowing components from GM's European Opel division, the Saturn Vue is completely redesigned for 2008. Highlights include a much-improved cabin, an available 257-horsepower V6 and improved handling and ride dynamics.
- Powerful V6 in XR and Red Line trims, handsome interior and exterior European styling, ideal handling and ride balance, plenty of standard safety features.
- Less cargo capacity than most rivals, front seats not ideal for some larger folks.

First time Saturn owner. - 2008 Saturn VUE
By drew212f - June 11 - 2:10 amThe exterior styling is what made my wife and I even bother to take a look at a Saturn. We picked one out with 4 miles on it and the A/C broke after 12 miles of driving away from the dealership. We used the 30 day option and replaced the vehicle with an exact copy but it had a paint bubble on the shifter trim ring. Dealership fixed the issue and my wife is happy. No other issues to report after 200 miles. We are happy with our decision to purchase an 08 VUE XR over an 07 RAV4 Sport, we test drove both on the same day.

Very Pleased! - 2008 Saturn VUE
By CCR2008 - May 8 - 4:33 pmI love my VUE! I wanted cargo room and good mpg so I went for the 4 cylinder instead of the six. After a grand total of 476.5 miles driven, the combined mpg was 27.09. As others have noted, I also felt the drag with the engine shifting and hill climbing, but I let the engine do its thing and didnt try to compensate during the first 500 miles. After reaching 200+ miles, the transition was noticeably smoother and with very little or no drag. Compared to the other small/midsized SUVs I looked at, the Vues value, good looks, and competitive fuel economy made my choice easy. The exterior is very attractive with clean, classic lines.

Unbeatable quality and style - 2008 Saturn VUE
By Sheila Ward - April 20 - 7:30 amStyling of my 2008 onyx VUE turns head. The after purchase leather package for the interior makes it even more stunning! I love the OnStar and XM radio. My VUE is a joy to drive in town and on the highway. I make long trips each month and have been thrilled with the smooth ride, handling and max gas mileage. I get max mileage driving in town. Dash panel is easy to see, access and operate while driving. On steering wheel dials make it even easier. The reasons I purchased the VUE - quality craftsmanship, safety, gas mileage, cargo space and styling have been proven as I own and drive the car. Experience with my Saturn dealership has been excellent. I recommend the VUE to all!

Wish I Kept My 04 VUE - 2008 Saturn VUE
By choozy1 - February 22 - 9:50 pmI traded in my 04 VUE, 4cyl/5sp, for the 4cyl/auto 08 VUE. It was nice at first, but the more I drove it, the less I liked it. The 4 cylinder is not strong enough for the heavier version VUE. It chugs up hills and gets bogged down while the cruise is on. Also, the vent makes a strange noise off and on. The windshield defroster does not work very well. I miss the better gas mileage of my 04 VUE.The sun visors are still as puny as in the older VUE models. Pretty worthless. As far as good things about the 08, the interior looks much better and classier than the older style. But thats about it. I sure miss my 04....

Great redesign - 2008 Saturn VUE
By glc212 - January 6 - 4:16 pmI traded my 2003 Vue in with 95,000 mile. The 2008 is like going to a Cadillac fro a Chevy. The V6 is very responsive and it is fun to drive. I get a lot of comments on the styling and appearance.

First Saturn - 2008 Saturn VUE
By hgranat - October 4 - 7:46 amI purchased the XE model with the 4-Cylinder after comparing the CR-V, Ford Escape, Mitsubishi Outlander and Mercury Mariner. The Saturn had the best look to it and best features for the money and the quietest ride - also for the American brands had the best resale value. I have had a few fit and finish issues that the dealer easily fixed. Another posting mentioned a problem with the 4 speed automatic transmission with erratic behavior and gear-dropping to accelerate. Last week during the recall for the "Brake Control Module" the transmission was reprogrammed and works significantly better - like it should have in the first place. Performance is greatly enhanced!

Saturn kept the Opel in the Vue - 2008 Saturn VUE
By Mainer - October 2 - 1:56 pmMy gas mileage is well above the EPA rating; 19.5 & 26. The handling is very good and the AWD worked very well in our record year of snow; 198". The VUE was called back for a software upgrade and the battery in the OnStar died. No other problems.

Severely Disappointed - 2008 Saturn VUE
By Wendi O - September 24 - 7:46 pmWanted to buy American and took a chance on the VUE Red Line. Owned it for less than one year and already it has been in the shop 4 times. It comes out worse than when it went in. A/C has gone out 3 times in the heat of Vegas. Weird cracking sound in the dash when you drive anywhere is annoying and the mechanics have been unable to fix it after taking the damned dash apart twice! Now they are trying to tell me that it is "normal sound" and to ignore it. Test drove one from the dealership just to prove them wrong. Gas mileage supposed to average 15-19 in city....lucky to get 15. And now the low gas indicator just stopped working

Our 6th Saturn - 2008 Saturn VUE
By Pat - September 14 - 6:16 amThis is our sixth Saturn, our third Vue. We have only had it a week, but during that time we drove it from central California to southern Arizona. This Vue is superior to our previous Vues because of the V6 engine, increased stability, OnStar, European styling and increased comfort. Its a smooth, fun car to drive. The fuel economy is not as good as our last Vue, but thats because we went to the V6 engine. Its worth it. The 4cyl we had on the last Vue just didnt have the pickup you need to pass and get up the hills with ease. My husband loves having the radio controls on the steering wheel and satellite radio. We also love the Saturn service. (I just wish theyd had a red one.)
