Overview & Reviews
Saab debuts the high-performance 9-5 Aero Sedan and Wagon with 230 horsepower. Entry-level sedans and wagons sport new 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, and all SE versions offer a turbo V6 and auto-dimming rearview mirror. The 9-5 Wagon Gary Fisher Edition offers a sportier exterior design and a Saab Limited Edition Gary Fisher mountain bike. A sunroof and traction-control system (TCS) have been added to the standard equipment list.
- Satisfying performance, impressive luxury, reasonable price, wagon availability.
- Quirky Saab design attributes and ergonomics, uninspired exterior styling.

Dont think the dealer should know my name - 2000 Saab 9-5
By Frank - April 18 - 6:13 pmThis car is a nice cheap option used and comes with a nice warranty. Once the warranty expires GET RID OF THE CAR! Car currently needs $5000 worth of repairs (head gasket, rear main seal and abs module). What a hunk of garbage! DO NOT BUY A SAAB, spend the extra few grand and get a Honda, Toyota or Nissan. The dealer knows, my name, my wifes name and my kids names. Unfortunately I also have a Saab 95 wagon. Cant wait to get rid of that either. GARBAGE CAR!!!! If they are born from Jets, then I am done flying!

Was thrilled at first. - 2000 Saab 9-5
By John - February 24 - 7:50 pmI bought this car 10/04 with 39,000 miles on it. I got if for a good price and was thrilled. In five months of ownership, Ive spent $3,500 in repairs. BEWARE, all Saabs esp. for models years 99-01 have an inherent problem with their electronic distributors. They fail regularly and cost $450+ per distributor to replace (theres 2 on the V6). Its a great car and fun to drive, but OOH THE COST TO FIX! You shouldnt have to carry a spare distributor in the trunk as many Saab owners have taken to doing.
