This Year's Model Updates:

Traction control is added as an option on Formula and Trans Am. Trans Am GT is dropped from lineup. Californians get a 3.8-liter V6 equipped with an automatic transmission on base models instead of the 3.4-liter V6. The new engine meets strict emissions standards in that state, and makes 40 additional horsepower.

  • Very pleased with this car - 1995 Pontiac Firebird

I purchased a 95 T/A convertible new in 95, and it has been a terrific car. It now has 108,000 miles, and outside of normal maintenance over the past 10 years, it has only required a battery, water pump, fuel gauge and O2 sensor (due to dirt in the fuel line caused by running the car out of gas).

I bought my Trans Am in 2002 and LOVE every time I drive it. It was my first sports car and will hopefully be my last. I put on a Powerdyne super charger, MAC headers, LT4 Hot Cams, 36 lbs fuel injectors, 58mm throttle body, and 3 T.V.s in it. This car has some serious horse power and is a head turner. The tinted windows give it an even better look. Im so glad I didnt get a Mustang. All my friends like my car and want to buy it. Too bad Im not selling it. I sure hope that GM is making some new ones even though they say theyre not. If you dont have one of these go out and get one. My friends have the mustangs and EVERYONE thinks my car was better even before all the work I did.

  • 4th firebird Love those F-bodies - 1995 Pontiac Firebird

I buy at least 1 used Fbody Pontiac Firebird/TA every year! I love them. I have had 3 other 1994-1997 Firebird/TAs. They have been reliable fun to drive vehicles that keep their value pretty well. This is the body syle I love. The sloped front end is more attractive than the new style. I get comments on the car almost everyday...sometimes even offers to buy it. I recommend this for young people and the young at heart.

  • great car if you take care of it - 1995 Pontiac Firebird

Im admittedly easy on cars when I drive, thus why I still have 265K miles on my original 1977 FB. The 1995 FB Formula is much better built and more reliable. Driving the speed limits I also receive about 3 MPG better than the sticker EPA ratings for those years. All my friends whove owned expensive foreign cars, supposedly so reliable, no longer have them, theyve all broken down...so the bottom line is even these FBs will outlast the rest if proper maintenance and care is given. Spend the money when you need to for upkeep and enjoy the results. Youll beat all the odds from Consumer Reports who in 1978 called my 1977 a Lemon year car to avoid. Same goes for the 95 Formula

  • Best F-Body Ive owned yet - 1995 Pontiac Firebird
    By -

My 3rd F-body, replacing a 1991. Excellent overall vehicle for one person (two if you do not count entering and exiting the vehicle). The LT1 is still very strong at 87,000 miles without ever having consumed a drop of oil. Extremely comfortable seats, and very usable in the wet or light snow with the traction control. Problem areas: Driver side power window motor replaced at 60,000 miles, tear in the seat leather where it meats the hard backing, and a crack in the defroster vent during very cold weather. Still on original clutch with plenty of lining left.

  • Love It! - 1995 Pontiac Firebird

I bought my Trans AM in October and the only thing that had to be replaced so far is a transmission bracket. i love driving my car and would recommend it to anyone who asks! The car had 85,000 miles on it when I bought it and gets around 18 mpg if you keep your foot out of it (which is much easier said than done). One thing that do not like is the lack of aftermarket visual parts for the car.

  • Been more flawless than most - 1995 Pontiac Firebird
    By -

Bought as a primary vehicle in 2001, with 44,000 miles on it. Has served excellent now approaching 80,000 miles. My 3rd overall Firebird, and definitely favorite. Plenty of room for my 63, and extremely comfortable on long hwy drives. It moved to nice weather only car the past year with only about 3,000 miles put on it, but with no noticable deterioration.

  • 2nd Most Fun Ive Ever Had - 1995 Pontiac Firebird
    By -

Ive owned my Formula for 5 years now, & I still get a thrill every time I step out my front door & see it in the driveway. I love this car! This car is fun to drive. The power will spoil you for driving anything else in the same price range. My husband works for a rental car agency, & brings home every new car they get in, & I try them all & say "eh". Ill keep my Fbird, thankyou. I wish I could keep it forever, but at 11 years old, its starting to have its little problems, creaks & rattles. (No loss of power, though). Still, its been extremely reliable. Funny how many have reported probs with the power window & headlight motors. But thats not enough to dim my love for this car.

  • Red T-Top - 1995 Pontiac Firebird
    By -

I love this car. It has excellent performance and is very comfortable to ride in the front seats. The back is a little cramped but not too bad. I havent had any mechanical problems except the fuel pump went out at about 80,000 miles.

  • Best bang for the buck - 1995 Pontiac Firebird
    By -

I love this car! I live in southern California and love to cruise the Pacific Coast Highway with my convertible down!I have pulled up to a stoplight and have girls I dont even know jump into my car. This car has never needed more than typical maintenance. Its an Urban Rollercoaster. There is nothing better than to pull up to some raced out Honda, put down my top, blast "Born in The U.S.A." by Bruce Springstien, rev my engine and blow the other son of a b!@ch away... EVERY time.
