A Terrific Olds - 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora
By KeithinAZ - May 10 - 10:00 amThis is a terric car. Solid, powerful, well built and reliable. We did have to go to warranty for front seals at 60,000. Would buy this car again.

Underrated car/excellent used bargain... - 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora
By hammen2 - October 18 - 2:00 amUsed-car sleeper. Very distinctive (few on the road; bargain on the used market due to death of Olds). Similar to $50k Caddy STS; mine stickered over $40k, but I got it used w/27k miles for $17k). Styling? love it or hate it (I LOVE it). Base is loaded, few options. Mechanically, hit-or-miss (GM build quality issues). Mine, other than water pump, has been mechanically solid (was for the 1st owner - check maintenance history!). Lots of technology - a third-party extended warranty is recommended.

Comfort Plus - 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora
By EH - August 21 - 10:00 amPerhaps the best-priced, luxury sedan on the market today. Excellent balance between comfort, power. Suprisingly good fuel economy. Egonomically, nearly perfect. Excellent reliability during its first 100K of life. Would buy another one in a heartbeat.

1998 Oldsmobile Aurora - 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora
By JP - February 19 - 5:56 amMy 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora was a great used car value. It had a bold design, good perfromance and was very reliable. All ever bought for it was tires and a new battery.

XLNT Car - 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora
By Oldsman - May 31 - 10:00 amSince I purchased my car, it has been excellent. My only copmplaint is that it is a little cramped for such a large, long car-- not much leg or head room for someone over 6 feet tall. Im 62", and I drive with the seat all the way back (and tilted all the way back), and the backrest tilted back at about 35 degrees. My (short) hair still brushes the roof. Because of that, my next car will probably be a Cadillac STS. But if youre altitudinally challenged, this is one great, smooth, good-looking and reliable car.

Aurora - 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora
By James Becker - February 3 - 2:00 amI have had to problems with this car that I felt Olds should of addressed with at least some assistance. Air conditions unit went out at 70000 miles dealer wanted $1200.00, A repair shop down the street charged me $595.00 The radiator is of poor design allowing road debre to collect in the fins. Almost impossible unit to clean of flush. Will have to replaced in 2003

What, me worried? - 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora
By Blurondo - July 2 - 10:00 amThe car is over six years old, has 92,000 mi. and it still performs like it did when I got it in 2000. Great for city or highway driving; 18+ mpg in town and 23+ mpg on long trips. Rising gas prices have generated thoughts of switching to something else but I dont think I could stand the shock. Had to replace the directional switch, apparently not totally uncommon, for an uncommon price of $550.00.

Beginning to show its age, but love it - 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora
By Love2Drive - February 4 - 10:00 amFun to drive, Affordable to the masses now after starting with a price tag of $38K in 98. Controls are ready for use with the "cockpit" styled interior. Starting to see more mechanical stuff go wrong now at 75K mi. Brakes, calipers, alternator, air conditioning, steering noise at low speed turns, Tried riding in the back seat for 1st time... why is the ceiling so low? So many of them on the road now, its hard to feel original...
